The legendary Sir Walter Scott. His book ‘The Fair Maid of Perth’ 1828 gave the city its common name of the Fair City. . I don’t know if he was known to be a bit of a character, but clearly when he’s had a drink he enjoys high jinx (which I believe comes from High Jinks a Scottish drinking game from the 1700’s).
