Sebastian Moran cocked his head to the side a little, reluctantly allowing the unfinished cigarette to fall to his feet, stubbing out it's remains into the pavement beneath his feet as he flicked through a few settings on his vortex manipulator, a little taken aback (thought he did his best not to show it, aware that he was in the close vicinity of some incredibly powerful men who would, undoubtedly, be watching him. Checking the manipulator was risky enough but showing emotions? Suicidal He made his career off seeming to be a heartless, uncaring bastard after all. If his opponents, or Jim's for that matter, realized that was all a front? Well he'd be without a paddle up a creek rhyming with hit pretty damn soon after that...) by the readings he was getting... perhaps he'd spent too long in this time without exercising the device or something because... Gallifreyan technology? Impossible, no there definitely had to be something with his scanners... maybe that or one of the inconveniently placed rifts that seem to be littered about this time in various shapes and sizes was interfering with it. Either way, he really would have to get it looked into at some point. Firstly though, he had to scout out whatever this alien presence happened to be because, while Gallifreyan it most likely wasn't, alien (to this time at least) it most definitely was...

It was getting real cold with the approaching winter. Then again, Everett was always cold. He could shiver in the middle of the desert, Janice said. Despite the fact that each and every one of the slightest chills could set his teeth chattering, that didn’t stop him from going outside to smoke and clear his head a little. His thoughts were scattered at the moment, even more so with the soft dusting of snow that had begun, and upon hearing footsteps crunch against the thin powder, he looked up.
“Evening. May I help you with something, or did’ja jus’ stop ‘ta shoot th’breeze?”
