How is she coming along? You've been working very hard over the past few days, sir-- Perhaps a break is in order. It would not do to overexert yourself.

“She’s almost set! I just need to look over the coding one more time and finish some details on her armour...” 

That said, Dr. Wily looked like he hadn’t slept or showered once in those past few days while he’d been trying to complete Piano. The bags under his eyes were darker than a black hole and the man looked like he was about to pass out. He may or may not have been living off coffee for the past few days, as well. “... and tweaks to her-” yawn “-weapon, and making sure I installed everything right...”

Nerd bun, please just pick up your father and put him on his bed. He’ll probably pass out immediately.

 Proto Man? What are you doing all the way out...

“O-Oh… I-It’s not a crime to try and get out of the rain, of course not…! I– It’s just… You’re awfully close to the fortress, close enough to be picked up on our radar. I was just wondering… Um. Are you alright? You don’t look well…”

He’s quiet for a long moment, then sighs. Might as well come clean, if just to stop Metal from sounding so anxious.  “Not exactly. My core fluxed again. It does this, sometimes.”

…Geez, the kid really does look like a younger him– And thus, by extension, just like their dad. And that screwdriver can’t just be left there. Sighing, Alto sets aside his book and approaches the poor SWN somewhat hesitantly. That glitch might have been fixed, and now that he knows the kid’s behaviour was out of his control he feels no resentment, but it still hadn’t been very fun getting beat up in the first place– By a child, no less!

“I can see that,” He says as he crouches down to get a look, “Let me see…”

It takes a couple of minutes – and quiet apologies should he be hurting Forte in any way – but Alto finally gets the screwdriver free. “What were you doing, anyways?”

 “Well,” Forte says, wincing when the screwdriver finally pops free.  “Some of th’ parts for Piano are turning out t’ be really hard to find, so I thought I’d just give her mine. I can run just fine without most of these, and the sooner we can build her and boot her up the sooner I can look for replacements?”

He shrugs absently, trying to focus more on his plans than on just how much Alto really looks like his own reflection - minus the face streaks, of course. It’s difficult, though, if just because of how uncanny the similarities really are. 

 “So uh. Mind helpin’ me open that panel so I can take out the bits I need?”
