I will respectfully disagree with this anon on some points. Yes, Joe should learn to throw the ball away sometimes. I get that and completely agree. He’s so dead set on extending plays, it’s almost as if he refuses. Someone needs to sit him down and explain this.

However, Joe’s strengths in being quarterback do come from his ability to read a field, make adjustments in game play, and be unpredictable. Many defensive players have said this. That’s why he’s a scary quarterback and up until last night, no one has never really had a problem with it(this isn’t directed at anon at all). That same style of play put him on the top of multiple stats list last year. Joe shouldn’t be asked to change how he chooses to play, his offensive line and coach should know how to adapt. As of last night, so excited that they won but, I believe, Ted even said that the defense was just coming at them when Joe was playing and backed down with Jake. But, that’s what they do with Joe, they have to just barrel through the line to get to him. We should have a line that can withstand that because he’s played this way for six years. You can’t completely fault the line because this would be difficult to get used to (hence slow starts that pick up in the season) and we have some new guys. But at the same time? You have to figure it out. It’s sad all around and I hope the news Joe gets today is better than what they are saying. I’m so sad for him.

Yes, exactly this. It’s been six seasons and we’re still dealing with the same issue. Joe shouldn’t have to change who he is as a QB, the line and coaching should be built around his style, to figure out how to adapt to Joe’s style instead of expecting him to change what makes him elite. The fact that defenses know they can just pin their ears back when he’s in says it all. He’s too talented for this to still be the problem year after year

It’s frustrating because we’ve seen what he can do when he’s protected, and it just feels like such a waste when he’s not given that chance

I’m honestly done with stuff like this. Joe smokes pot, all players smoke pot. Don’t say “you love Joe” and then go and make the above said comments. Clearly you don’t. He takes very good care of himself, and that is very obvious. Has openly discussed his own anxiety and right when you all complain he doesn’t post anything, he does, and then you call him out for “being high all the time.”
