All a Lie
theformerthird (continued from here)
“It was all just a lie.”
Quietly she listened to the Primera, she wasn’t sure she should say anything until he fell silent. Finally her shoulder rose in a shrug and she looked to him out of the corner of her eye.
“Prior to them coming here, we never trusted the Shinigami in the first place. I really do question why we started to believe they wouldn’t lie.. — Aizen came in here promising the moon and stars.. to all of us. He was full of false promises.. We were naive to believe that our interests would become the priority.”
She licked the corner of her lips then looked up to the muted night sky. She sighed then shook her head pushing away some of the memories that started surfacing.
“Some of us.. were taken more than others; but you live and learn. — At least you.. still benefited somewhat from the experience.”
Starrk stared over the rolling mountains of sand with half-closed gray eyes. He didn’t make any movement to indicate he’d heard what his fellow Arrancar had said for a long while.
“Benefited...”
He mused the word softly, as if testing it against his tongue. He disliked the feeling.
“We are disbanded. We have lost strength. Shinigami will no doubt hunt us who are more powerful, seeing our threat.”
I am alone.
“Tell me, Nelliel. In what way have we benefited?”
