hi! sometimes you speak of children in your entourage so maybe you can help me. My friend is having her second kid, for the first I've gifted a book about lgbt themes in english (French here, it's so they can learn) so do you have any good recommendations for a book with cute art and a little lgbt/queer story in simple english? Case of favoritism in my family, so until I know what they'll like, I'm just going to gift the same stuff to the kids lol Thanks!
Here are a few I can think of off the top of my head:
When Aidan Became a Brother (This one I read recently and I really liked it -- it was a gentle story about a trans boy who wants to get everything just right for when his new baby sibling is born, but he struggles with the ‘what if we’re wrong?’ question re: naming, gendering, etc. a new baby, and his parents work through it with him, because they have experience with Getting It Wrong At First.)
A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo (both a very cute book on its own merit AND has a delightful backstory because it’s basically Last Week Tonight with John Oliver dunking on Mike Pence while simultaneously raising money for the Trevor Project, please see the episode here it’s great)
And Tango Makes Three (based on a true story about two male penguins in Central Park Zoo who became partners & raised a chick together)
