—”...THIS.” Peridot turns around, showing the small puppy she had in her hands. “I found it outside, it wouldn’t stop yapping. I think it was trying to destroy the house with it’s sound-waves!!!”
Season 2: Déjà Vu
NEW YORK 1854: Rebecca has Alistair and is caring for him, tends to his wounds. She says he almost died and he says he has to stop the bad beast from killing innocent people. Rebecca says it may be her destiny to kill the beast. She leaves and locks Alistair in with the power of the gem.
PRESENT DAY: Cat brings Vincent to a safe place and she tells him she has a plan to take care of Gabe. She says she can’t lose him and tells him to trust her. She believes it’s her destiny as well to kill Gabe. She locks him in just like Rebecca did and leaves the gem to seal him there.
I loved seeing Cat take charge of a situation and handling it competently. I do feel the use of this journal for drawing the parallels served its purpose well. Kristin Kreuk really brought her best in this episode. It is interesting the way Catherine almost "sees" in her mind's eye what most likely happened to Alistair. I would love to know what was actually in the journal. The flashbacks weren't actually flashbacks, more like Cat's imaginative re-enactments. The juxtaposition of Rebecca's flashbacks with Cat's present dilemma was very nicely rendered and made for a striking comparison leaving us to wonder what Cat could do to prevent Alistair's fate from becoming Vincent's. Both Rebecca and Cat say that the situations they’re in are their destinies, too. Girl power!
Season 2: Beast is the New Black
Vincent wrapped up the gem in a towel from Cat's bathroom, because he is getting ready to run away. Cat goes back to her apartment and Vincent hears Catherine's heart is racing. She informs Vincent that someone killed Reynolds' accomplice, maybe they killed the guard that saw him beast out and that someone else is after him, so they have to go. He tells her people are always gonna be after him.😔
Season 2: Beast is the New Black
The episode begins where it left off as Vincent is being led away after being arrested for the murder of Curt Windsor. Catherine runs after the detectives to try to stop Vincent’s arrest. The detectives are unmoved and place Vincent in the police car. Just as they are getting ready to take off, Vincent tells Catherine that he needs the gem.💎 Just as she yells to him about its whereabouts, the car takes off and she doesn’t get an answer.
Season 2: Beast is the New Black
CATHERINE: I 'm not gonna stop asking until you tell me and that could get me in trouble. Your brother's headstone? I'm very intuitive.
When Catherine asked Vincent where is the gem in code so the cop and the doctor could not notice it, he mumbled because he has that medical thing in his mouth , i thought he would repeat it when he gets it out of his mouth but Catherine understood that it is in his brother's grave ! Also that snarky cop who was Vincent jail handler (and who was getting on my nerves) was astonished and thinked it was a bit odd ! Dumb-ass!
Season 2: Beast is the New Black
Cat and Tess head to the cemetery to dig around the Keller brothers’ headstones, and Tess and Cat briefly discuss JT. Tess didn't want to flaunt the fact she could have a normal thing with JT while Cat still suffered the consequences of loving a beast.Catherine doesn’t judge; she’s more focused on fixing Vincent’s situation. Tess brings up all the logical flaws with the gem as a solution, but Cat can’t hear it. Tess offers reassurances that she knows they’ll overcome, and admits she’s personally struggling because she just doesn’t know how to help. After digging for a while, they find the gem plus some money and a passport in one of the graves.. It's funny how Tess feels that she needs to explain herself to Cat; as if Cat is in a position to judge anyone, and she herself says so. I do love Tess's pep talk as she realizes that Catherine is feeling vulnerable and unsure of the reality she and Vincent are facing (yes, they are EPIC!!!!) and the way she admits her own feelings of helplessness and that Cat and JT are very important people in her life.
