Amber Waves of Pain, MMO.
Amber Waves of Pain is the code name of a cigar-chomping all-American vigilante, frozen in the 40’s and awoken in the Gritty 90’s. When not updating her conspiracy website or ordering new explosives, she fights crime with maximum prejudice and minimum regard for the safety of bystanders.
Flamethrower: Amber begins the fight with her Flamethrower equipped, essentially granting her attacks a short range and a 45 degree cleave, so she must be faced away from the raid. Each hit puts a stacking damage-over-time on all targets in the effect that increases in severity with every application.
No matter her equipped weapon, she also has Tear Gas and Mortars.
Tear Gas: Every 6 seconds she lobs a tear gas grenade at a random target farther than 15 yards away, preferring ranged damage dealers. If a player is in the radius, they take a small amount of damage, but their damage and healing output is reduced by 30% for 10 seconds.
Mortar: A remote-controlled mortar mounted on the ceiling fires an explosive into the raid at random every 10 seconds, as long as she’s not casting a special attack. Players caught in the radius suffer a large amount of damage, but every other player in the raid takes a small amount of damage regardless if the target is hit or not.
Reinforcements: When reduced to 66% and 33% of her health, Amber will discard her current weapon, activate a force field, and draw a random new one over 15 seconds. During that time three Reinforcements will spawn from each side of the room; these Reinforcements use melee attacks and gain a 33% damage boost from each nearby Reinforcement, so it’s necessary for each tank to split up and grab three. They must be burst down within the 15 second window, before Amber equips one of the following:
PHASE TWO WEAPON CHOICES:
Shotgun: Amber strikes with the butt of her shotgun, giving the tank that takes the hit a +10% damage taken debuff. After five swings, she chooses a random melee character and takes four seconds to cast a Shotgun Barrage, a 30 degree cone dealing massive damage split evenly among each target struck.
Boot Knife: Amber slashes wildly with her boot knife, with each hit striking the main target for full damage and one additional target within range for half damage. The main target gains Mortal Wounds, reducing healing taken by 5% with each application. Every 15 seconds, Amber will perform a whirlwind lasting 5 seconds, dealing a moderate amount of damage every .5 seconds to those within 10 yards and giving them a stack of Mortal Wounds for each hit.
Rocket Launcher: Amber takes an additional 3 seconds outside of the force field to load the rocket launcher. While wielding the rocket launcher, Amber has no melee attack and cannot be taunted. Instead, she fires a rocket at the player farthest away from her every 6 seconds. The rocket’s damage on impact is lethal, but any player in its path before it hits the target takes a small amount of damage and reduces the impact damage by 10%. When the rocket hits, Amber fires a rope harpoon and drags the target next to her, then reloads to fire again.
At 5%, Amber seemingly surrenders, throws down a smoke grenade that stuns the raid, and escapes via helicopter.
