I finally completed my 2nd #waywardathon book! The Giant Killer, or, The Battle Which All Must Fight wasn't originally on my TBR. I ended up reading it by accident. I had to read a bit of it to substitute for a homeschool tutorial teacher at work. After reading the first 4 chapters of the book that was lent to me I decided I wanted to finish it. I decide to include it for the readathon since it fits the prompt for middle grade or children's book. The Giant Killer is a Christian allegorical story for children. I really enjoyed analyzing the story. I also like that it had a story within the story. The mother character is reading an allegorical tale to her children and nephews. This is great because it allows the characters to analyze the allegory in case there was something you missed. It was created to make children think but it made my adult self think too. This writing is definitely in a classic literature style but I like that sort of thing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I will note though that the ebook on Kindle is full of typos and misnamed some characters and the audiobook on the Librivox app skips part of a chapter so I'm probably going to have to get this in print at some point.
