5 Minutes With Mummy Blogger, The Glam Mummy
We love nothing more than a glam mummy here at Kate Thomas Maternity so when the ultimate Glam Mummy...erm, The Glam Mummy agreed to catch up with us and let us inside her head (and her wardrobe) we we're over the moon.We chatted with her last week to get the low-down on all things glam in the world of maternity.
KT: When you were pregnant, what was your maternity go-to?
GM: A few different coloured bump bands. They allowed me to wear my pre-pregnancy trousers/jeans throughout my pregnancy.
KT: What is your favourite piece from the Kate Thomas Maternity collection?
GM: The black wrap dress with lace [sleeves] – a nice little touch to a LBD!
KT: How would you style Kate Thomas Maternity for your pregnancy?
GM: Taking the black wrap dress as an example:
By day – I would style it with a neutral-toned blazer and pumps for the office
By night – I would glam it up with a statement necklace and kitten heels
KT: Nice! So how relevant was fashion for you during your pregnancy?
GM: It was definitely relevant as my body shape was changing as my bump grew and I had to keep updating my wardrobe to accommodate my changing figure. I grew to love a few key items in my closet as a result of my pregnancy.
KT: What is your top maternity style tip?
GM: Purchase some good quality investment pieces and glam them up with accessories.
KT: How did your personal style change since you became pregnant?
GM: Comfort definitely became a priority to me. I still wanted to wear the same pieces and styles but I paid a lot more attention to how comfortable items were.
KT: Who is your maternity style crush?
GM: Oooh this changes so often but at the moment: Reese Witherspoon, Sienna Miller and Beyonce. I’m looking forward to seeing Gwen Stefani’s pregnancy fashion statements in the coming months.
KT: Us Too! How did you prepare for your maternity style transition?
GM: I was clueless as I was one of the first of my friends to fall pregnant. So I basically bought the same clothes but in bigger sizes. Next time round I will be much better prepared.
KT: Of course, you'll have Kate Thomas! What is the best thing about being a mummy?
GM: Watching her grow into her own little personality with a very tender, loving side as well as her fiery independence.
KT: What was your favourite thing about being pregnant?
The little secret moments between and my baby girl. The gentle kicks and conversations that no one else knew about.
