Happy Friday Eve! Excited to be back to creating a landscape today for the fantastic Beckett House from The Green Door. At only 176Li for such a large home its perfect if you want a large home without compromising on prims. It also has a control panel to change various aspects of the homes colours. The exterior paneling can easily be swapped between colours depending on the season or your mood, for a whole new look. I've used some of my favourite landscaping FANATIK rocks for this landscape, and even though they are from 2018, these are just timeless. Stunning texturing, and relatively low prim. I've blended some of the Lofoten set in as well for extra mossy texture. To add a splash of colour, I'm using the beautiful Konoha Crocus, as ever you can change these from a singular colour, duo or combination, from pinks, purples, blues and yellows. Stunning. I will feature these again soon for a closer look!
A little info on how I created this scene for those that may want to create a similar landscape.
- I firstly raise a square section of land to my desired height and add the home. I highly recommend using the "select land" option rather than manually raising the land, gives a much cleaner surface to work on.
- I then the FANATIK 2018 rock as my main cliffs. Rezz them all out first, look at the unique shapes and then with your selected few, press them into your raised land. I would variate the rotation, and make sure they aren't too vertically placed. I also recommend leaving gaps for shrubbery for a more natural appearance. It really helps to look at a cliffside home image when creating these if you struggle to imagine one without a reference.
- Then terraform the land lower to expose more of the rock.
- Trust the process.. it does look strange at first. Now you have your elevated land and some cliff work with gaps. Shrub time. I recommend going for a larger denser shrub. LOVE superstore has a variety you could use for this that are super low prim. Now start adding the shrubs in the gaps. Its coming together now right?
- Shoreline is optional. For this build I push the pebble beach shoreline into the base of my cliff rocks, bringing some shrubbery in places and adding additional rocks for more variation, and gives an overall authentic shoreline appearance.
- Finally, I place my key trees, and my grass, which easily blends into the top of the cliffs with minimal effort. I've also used two types of grass, my base grass for the overall appearance and then the Konoha Jest weeds for some thicker texture. Then of course choose your floral colours to compliment your home colour choice.
Always happy to answer questions. IM me in world if you need any assistance.
