Mutton seekh wrap @eatnaturoll , The Grub Fest, Delhi. I’ve always been fascinated by the “Fair Food” which is shown in the Tv usually when you tune into channels like FoodFood or TravelExpo, which seems to be full with innovation, presentation, comforting flavours and loads of delicious junk getting stuffed in your mouth. In fact such food feats/ pop-ups are the best medium to taste the offbeat cuisines cooked by home chefs and amateurs who don’t own a huge restaurant essentially. I remember relishing some delicious quick bites sold at school “fetes” in Kota during my childhood, the stalls were put up by the teachers who loved cooking a lot. However, most of the pop-ups I’ve seen in Jaipur seem to fall under the mediocre category as far as the food goes. Maybe it’s inexperience or lack of organisation, but somehow the freshness is always missing! The grub fest has always been improving and has excelled at serving best food to the audience. It was a pleasant experience to order the roll as everything was prepared fresh. The mutton, multigrain roll chapati and malabari sauce, all together got me drooling till the end. Not sure where these guys operate, but I’ll just make sure to attend Grub Fest whenever they happen to host in Delhi! . . .
