Hi there.
If you've read the news EVER, you've probably also been depressed. The reality is that there are a lot of crappy things going on in this world, and probably in your little world too. It’s sad, scary and stressful, and just typing this makes me want to curl up in a ball and have a cookie.
BUT I’m here to switch things up. We could totally dwell on the horrible stuff and have a pity party for ourselves, OR we can start thinking differently and doing differently.
I’m not saying we should ignore the injustices around us and mindlessly skip down the block, but I think we should take time to reflect on the good. To be grateful. And to write it all down.
True story: researchers say that gratitude journals (we need a new name for this, not my style) have aided in better sleep, fewer illnesses and an overall improvement with satisfaction in life. It's free healthcare, y'all. You write your own prescriptions - just the stuff that makes you happy - and BOOM. You heal yourself.
This is my chance to write about the things that make me happy. The things I live for. The things that taste good. The things that are insignificant on most people’s happy scales but so high up on mine. The little things. The big things. Mine.
These are the Happy Files.
