“I really think she was a werewolf.”
“Gus -” The exasperation in Shawn’s voice was evident. “For the fifth time, she was not a werewolf, there’s no such thing.”
“She wanted to drink my blood.”
“Werewolves don’t drink blood.”
Bobbi, lounging against the hightop, couldn’t help her grin. This conversation was so much better with tequila. “Could a vampire get drunk off blood alcohol content?”
“I’m not thirsty any more.” Gus pulled back slightly from his glass.
“Because your drink looks like someone was bleeding into it?”
“It’s tomato juice, Shawn, and it’s refreshing.”
“You get the micheladas because you’re afraid to say Bloody Mary, aren’t you?”
“I get micheladas because they’re a delicious traditional beverage and don’t say that name again.”
“Bloody Mary?”
“Don’t play, Bobbi. I’ve seen things.”
“We need more chips.” Shawn lifted the empty basket and cast a glance over Bobbi’s shoulder. “And this guy’s about to fall and or hit on you.”
