By chance does Kelly deal with internalized homophobia??? Ik you've mentioned in the past that he's kinda confused but I was curious because it's something he almost immediately rejects if the topic of him being gay is brought up, also I've struggled with internalized homophobia for a long time because of my family and I feel like it'd make a lot of sense for him.

To answer your question, yes, you hit the hammer on the head with the! Kelly struggles with really bad internalized homophobia. More so even than Killian, back when he struggled with internalized homophobia - which says a lot about how rough it is for Kelly.

If asked about their orientation, even in the present day, Kelly will say they are straight. This is despite it being very obvious Kelly is extremely bisexual given the relationship between them and Seamus. But because Kelly and Seamus do not see themselves as romantic partners, even though they basically are more or less in an open relationship - that's not how Kelly and Seamus see it.

@gracilissart describes Seamus a certain type of 'fondness,' for Kelly, as Seamus has a completely wrapped view on what love is (if you want to know about Seamus, spam Graciliss in asks xD). Kelly doesn't understand what love means, they had a very... particularly hellish upbringing. Once he finally opens up to someone, as in Seamus, Kelly is already a grown ass adult nearing his 30s. Kelly describes their feelings for Seamus as "overwhelming but not in a bad way"

Kelly is still coming to terms with his sexual orientation. Despite refusing to accept they're bisexual, Kelly has come out as non-binary already and uses they/he pronouns! But he's totally straight.
