thehelmarocking replied to your post: “I am straight, but I support anyone’s decision to not be.” Shit, girl. You talk like it’s a choice. I hate that.
Oh my god. You can fucking decide to be straight or not. At this moment, I’m homosexual, but the next day I could choose to stop being homosexual because I want to. Fuck off anon.
Oh, goodness. Let's not have a war on my blog XD I completely respect anon for being touchy about it.
Let me just say this, there are three aspects on sexual orientation:
Sexual thoughts
Sexual actions
Sexual identity
As far as genetics goes, you can not chose your thoughts. No matter how hard you try. Denying it only makes you look like a fool because almost 99% of the psychiatric population agrees with it and supports it. So that's where the 'you can't chose your orientation' comes in.
Sexual actions are how you chose to pursue your orientation. You may have homosexual thoughts, but chose to act on a straight or bisexual sexual lifestyle.
Sexual identity is how you chose to identify yourself as. You may be a homosexual, but to your community, for whatever reason it be, insecurity, fear, or just not being ready yet, you say that you are bisexual or straight.
So if you want to be the happy medium that gets slammed with both sides of haters, like me, that's the mindset you can take. I took a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Studies course last year and took that straight out of our textbook, so I'm not pulling it out of my ass.
