Hot tip that you can kinda mute people by adding their usernames to the filter.

Ah but the problem with that technique is the post still shows up as filtered, so if it's an account flooding a tag or something with their ask rp/liveblogging/etc that doesn't really help.

I feel like I dodged a bullet by the fact that even though my tumblr url is named after “Zagreus fears the hero heart”, I didn’t actually include Zagreus’s name.

l'd recommend AviDemux as a video converting/editing alternative. It's completely free, has a lot of conversion options (lots of file types/encoding, quality settings ++), allows for simple editing (mostly trimming down video, removing scenes, also crop, flip, resize, rotate etc, and more stuff but i don't rly use complicated stuff). It allows exporting frames, but tbh mostly I just trim to import mp4 to photoshop. But since it's free (not trial) it doesn't block any features! And v lightweight.

Also since when importing mp4, you just edit out the specific scenes, you can go really high quality file so you don't really lose any quality to compression.

Ah, thanks for the suggestion! I just ran some tests, and the output quality is indeed much better than any mp4 converter I’ve used so far (and I’ve tried a fair few lmao). 😊

which version of JCS did you watch? how did you like it?

I saw the 1973 film! It was a lot of fun watching it with my mom because it was basically her Hamilton back in the 70s and she was singing along to all of it. Some absolute bangers (been listening to The Temple and Damned for All Time a lot) and great voices in the cast. The plot didn’t quite work for me, because we don’t really see Jesus do anything outside of the temple scene. He just came off like a cult leader to me. If I didn’t already know the story, I wouldn’t get why people were following him or why the priests were against him. If it had started earlier in the story and shown his rise to fame, why Judas followed him in the first place, etc. I think it would have worked better thematically.

It really struck me how the Romans came across as more sympathetic than the Jews. Herod in particular is just straight up a 1970s antisemitic stereotype (as my dad commented “I went to camp with that guy”), which is a bummer since his song slaps. I’ve been skipping Trial Before Pilate on the soundtrack because the Jewish crowd yelling “Crucify him!” is legitimately uncomfortable.

my mother was always INCREDIBLY insistent it was the case we were both 5'11", *maybe* 5'10", and i totally believed her even when a doctor told me otherwise and she vehemently insisted that wasn't true

it never really struck me as something to pay attention to once i left home, since i wore heels all the time and it was less noticeable

then on meeting my gf, a certified amazon, "you thought you WHAT? lmaoooooooo"
