10 and 15 for the end-of-year reading asks, if I may!
of course! x 10. what was your favourite new release of the year? oh, definitely, most definitely galapagos: a novel by fátima velez! i was lucky enough to be given an arc of it to read, and it's truly a weird little book. i'm not usually big on stream of consciousness, but i think it had the right balance - it had this habit of drowning you in the most luscious, descriptive prose before pulling back to only give you the bare bones. really lush and vibrant and upsetting
15. did you read any books that were nominated for or won awards this year ? what did you think of them? i did not, but admittedly i only read two books published this year (as far as i can tell?). i don't tend to pay much attention to which books have won awards either way
You Won’t Be Alone (2022) Dir. Goran Stolevski
When you get this you have to answer with 5 things you like about yourself, publicly. then, send this ask to 10 of your favorite followers (non-negotiable, positivity is cool!)
Going to see if I can come up with 5 things without my usual standby of cooking/baking:
Resilience
Pragmatism
Objectivity
Fitness level
Dress sense
For the WIP guessing game I'll be greedy: blue, foreign, love, glass!
Glass was easy: “A sigh escaped fromRosamund, and Harold tucked the joint back into his pocket as he downed therest of his glass and stood.”
Here is blue: “Zoe studied her surreptitiously, taking in curly red hair in a neat chignon, the impeccably tailored and fittedthree piece suit, two-toned oxfords, blue eyes, and – every once in a while asthe line moved along – the flash of a bright smile.”
Love: “’Warm, my love?’ Patrick asked, his hands twistedcarefully in her damp hair.”
I didn’t have anything for “foreign”, oddly enough. Haha.
Honey perfume! Lantana! Tulip!
Thank you, sweetheart! Sorry for taking so long to answer
Honey perfume; favorite movie ever?
“Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron”, definitely. That movie won my heart when I was really young and I haven’t been able to move on.
Lantana; what’s on your mind right now?
The class presentation I have to finish by Thursday and haven’t started yet
Tulip; name 5 facts about yourself.
This is the moment I realize I don’t really know myself
- When I was younger, I thought I would end up studying something like biology. But look at me now…
- I’ve known one of my friends for almost our whole lives, we are very close and are usually mistaken for a couple; once I bet on $100MX with a teacher over the fact my friend and I would not be in a romantic relationship by the end of high school. I’m still waiting for my money.
- Actually, I have never been in a romantic relationship
- Before choosing my actual career, I took eight months of graphic design but ended up quitting
- My letter is mostly cursive
Pass the happy along! When you get this, reply with 5 things that make you happy and then send this to the last 10 people in your activity feed ❤
Haha thank you! I think I’ve already done this meme, but I’ll list five more things that make me happy because happiness is great! :D
1. My family, friends, and pets! ^^
2. BioWare games!
3. Reading Jearmin fanfic and looking at Jearmin fanart! xD
4. Bookstores and libraries!
5. Really tasty food! Preferably not cooked by me because I am not good at cooking … xD
Okay, time to put this in people’s inboxes lol.
DIamond! Perfume! Parchment! 1975! If that's not too greedy. ;)
You could never be too greedy with this sweetheart
Diamond; favorite color?
Navy blue and scarlet
Perfume; favorite scent?
Oh my goodness, I have lots but if I had to choose, they would be coffee, wine, and wood.
Parchment; favorite book?
This one got me thinking because it’s been a really long time since I had time to read for myself and I can’t bring myself to remember any book. If you have any recommendations feel free to tell me, please!
1975; if you could time travel to any time period, what would it be and why?
To the 18th century. There’s just so much to see and experiment, such a way to perceive the world.
