THE HIDDEN HAND at Rosenkeller, Jena in 2004 - legendary venue and great memories, even though I didn't really have a clue who WINO was back then. To me he was some cool american musician, but my english was terrible. He was very friendly to us (Terraplane) but due to my lack of language-skill we didn't talk more than a few sentences. He even watched a bit of our show, right in front of me.

But then, needless to say how impressed I was after their gig! I still think THE HIDDEN HAND is one of Wino's best groups. The other american band OSTINATO was interesting, but a bit complex for me. Pic from merch stand may also be insightful - back in these days there was not much going on. There were barely 100 people at this show, despite a quite cheap entrance of only 8 EU!

This is a movie that I learned about through Letterboxd for horror from 1942. We get another one that is based off a play, it is a murder mystery of sorts with a bit of 'old dark house' elements. I'll be honest, didn't see the ending coming, but it was fairly generic outside of that. Have you heard of this one? Just finished watching THE HIDDEN HAND on TMC.  A silly little thriller from 1942 (dir) Ben Stoloff.  

One of the things I miss in today’s films are the great fonts and stylized lettering they used for the Opening Titles of these classic films. Case in point the great style of the director’s card above.
