Transcript:

Panel 1: There's a loud cracking noise. Skulduggery doubles over, his claws digging into the glass. He's making obvious sounds of pain now, unable to hide it anymore. Val yelps his name, obviously freaked out that something is happening. China and Ghastly completely forget about Nye and turn to see what's going on. Nobody looks like they're worried anymore, the situation has gone from just bad to much worse.

Valkyrie: Skul!!

China: Oh God...

Panel 2: China steps back up to Val, starting to pull her away from the glass. Val looks like she doesn't even register China is there, a look of horror on her face as she stares through the observation window at Skulduggery.

China: Valkyrie...

Panel 3: Skulduggery pushes himself off the glass. The focus is only his hand, his ruined gloves and his claws. His phalanges are freakishly long.

Panel 4: Skulduggery staggers backwards, clearly lost in the pain he's in. His aura is burning so brightly it looks like he's on fire. He's doubled over in pain, clutching his head and barely able to stand up on his own. He lets ouch another agonized groan as the light above him starts to dim and flicker, making a concerning buzzing noise. The aura bleeding is completely soaking his shirt now. He's letting animalistic snarls escape him.

Panel 5: Skulduggery screams at the ceiling in agony, his red aura bursting from his eyes. His claws have turned from sharp phalanges to huge, inhumane weapons. The light above him shatters, leaving his aura being the only light source in the lab. His magic swirls around him like a bonefire, and it's clear this is the point of no return. His bones are starting to shift and crack, and time has run out.

Transcript:

Panel 1: Dr. Nye and Skulduggery stand on opposite sides of a glass observation window. Skulduggery, in a grey suit and a purple shirt, is in the empty observation room lit with yellow light. He is angerly pointing at Nye with accusation. Nye stands on the other side of the window in it's dark lab, eyeing Skulduggery with malicious delight, like he is on of it's experiments. It's clothes are stained with blood.

Skulduggery: Nye, I swear to God if you don't explain yourself right now I'll-

Panel 2: Dr. Nye wags it's spidery finger at Skulduggery like it's scolding a child. It's smile is way too big for it's face.

Nye: ah ah ah Detective~! I have you in there for safety you see...

Panel 3: Skulduggery rubs his chest with a gloved hand. He looks like he's doing a bad job pretending that he's not concerned. The moon glints very beautifully in the background.

Nye, out of frame: You could hurt someone in your... soon-to-be state.

Transcript:

Panel 1: Ghastly grabs Nye's smock and yanks it's face down so he can glare into it's tiny ugly eyes. Nye looks like it's debating biting his head off.

Ghastly: What did you do, you bug-eyed creep.

Panel 2: Skulduggery nonchalantly hugs himself as Valkyrie presses her hands against the observation glass, looking more confused than concerned now. China crosses her arms and gives him her best 'I have no idea what you've dragged me into but there better be a good explanation for it' expression. Ghastly, still gripping Nye's smock, is angerly pointing towards Skulduggery and scolding the Crenga. Nye looks thoroughly displeased.

Valkyrie: Why'd it lock you in there Skul? What's going on?

Skulduggery: I don't know.. It said I'm in here for everyone's safety... Whatever that means.

Transcript:

Panel 1: Ghastly, Valkyrie and China burst into the dark lab. Ghastly looks furious, hand filled with fire and Elder robes billowing. Valkyrie looks straight at Skulduggery with concern. China follows last, looking unimpressed. Nye's hand is visible in the foreground, clearly caught off guard.

Ghastly: NYE!! Panel 2: Nye tries to shrink away from Ghastly into the corner of the room. It is attempting to look sheepish. It's actually looking very guilty. Ghastly storms towards it like he's about to take it's head off. Valkyrie and China have moved up to the observation window and are looking at Skulduggery; Valkyrie with genuine concern and China looking like she's thinking she shouldn't have worn white pants and high heels to this rescue mission. Skulduggery looks very small in the empty observation room.

Nye: E-Elder Bespoke...!

Ghastly, thinking: Don't throttle it until you get information. Don't throttle it until you get information. Don't throttle it until you get information.

Valkyrie: Are you alright??

Skulduggery: Yes, I think..

Transcript:

Panel 1: Nye tilts it's chin up, letting the yellow light from the observation room light it from a malicious angle. It's jaw is slightly unhinged, and it's grin looks terrifying. It looks like what it is- an inhumane evil scientist that commits war crimes for funsies.

Nye: Something... Marvelous

Panel 2: Valkyrie presses herself against the glass of the observation window. She seems to have forgotten that she has magic powers and is just sort of desperately staring at his best friend. Her face tells us that she is severely worried.

Val: Skul- we'll... We'll help you- We'll get Nye to fix the wound and-

Panel 3: Skulduggery's aura is becoming worryingly bright. The outline of his ribs is visible through the glow in his chest. His eyes are beginning to spark and faint red flames are flickering in his sockets. His magic is definitely congealing in his chest now, and it appears to be bleeding through his shirt. He is still hugging himself with one arm, the other pressed against the glass like he's having trouble standing up on his own. His gloves have torn and claws are now protruding through the leather. His teeth are steadily growing larger and sharper, and more aura-blood is dropping down his skull.

Skulduggery: It's- It's not me- It's my magic. Nye- did something to it. The- the grooves.. My body... It's burning
