Courage To Go To Outside
Finding the Nerdfighter community has had a huge impact on my life. While John and Hank keep reminding me to be awesome, I've also met so many of my friends. The Nerdfighter community gave me the courage to go to outside for once, to go to a Nerdfighter gathering with almost total strangers.
From being scared to meet people a 15min train ride away, I now travel the world on my own or with friends, trying to find grey-speckled walls in airports, going to science conferences for work or go home to LeakyCon.
Also I'm a chapter organiser of an Harry Potter Alliance chapter and although I never thought myself as a leader-type person, John, Hank, and of course Andrew's enthusiasm to do something good in this world, to decrease some world-suck together, convinced me to start a chapter.
Without the Vlogbrothers, I probably wouldn't be that different, I would still read a lot and be positive, but I'm not sure if I would actively be trying to be awesome and trying to better the world just a tiny bit at a time, while spending time with friends and keep learning about everything in life.
