First School Day || the-impossible-daughter

Her hand has holding the girl's in a grip; this was her daughter's first day of school but she was probably more nervous than the girl herself. Because this was a normal day, and not a normal situation. And because it was a normal school, on Earth, as she insisted.

The Doctor had insisted that both of them could take care of their daughter's education, but she felt like it wasn't right. She wanted her daughter to go through the whole process of going to school , making friends and graduating.

But there was no reason to be nervous, right? She was going to school and then she was going to came back home. Just like that. Just the usual. So when they stopped right in front of the entrance, she took a deep breath and ducked until her eyes were in the same height of the girl's.

"First day." She opened a smile. "Are you ready?"

"Do you love me?"

"Hey, of course I do. I love you more than anything else in the universe. Don't you know that?"

"It’s so dark."

"That's why they call it a black out," Clara responded, before reaching down and taking her daughters hand in her own, "But you don't need to be afraid of it. Black outs can be fun. We just need to light some candles so that we can see first, alright? You're not afraid, are you?"

   Earth in the near future was not very different    at all, or maybe it was, just in ways that she    could not distinguish. What was meant to be a    trip home for her, turned into the year being wrong;    of course the Doctor wanted to explore a bit.    Something about the box bringing them here for    some strange reason. So now the Doctor had simply    smiled at her and run off, or rather he was actually    walking a bit ahead of her, scanning the area curiously    with the sonic.

   Clara was then startled by a little girl running to her    and promptly hugging into her leg. Immediately she    looked around, wondering if the girl was lost, or    something had scared her. She then carefully placed    a hand on the girl's head, fingertips running along her    hair in a comforting way.

   ❝ Sweetheart, you okay?❞ she asked, unsure of    what exactly to do, or why the little girl had clung    to her in the first place.
