As always i'm abysmally late to the party but i have a question; its kind of the first event im forcing myself to participate in, so are the prompts an either/or thing or are we supposed to incorporate both of the aspects or is it open to interpretation? For instance unrequited//astral plane; should it include both themes or can it work however? Also do general themes work? (I tried to figure this out from your faq but i couldnt) Thanks

Hello and welcome!! Don’t worry, you aren’t late at all--the extra week of reblogging is basically the “backup week” for anyone who couldn’t post earlier for any reason. Sometimes life/ school/ work/ illness/ anxiety gets in the way, so we wanted to give people the best possible chance to participate. :)

Everything is COMPLETELY open to interpretation. Use the prompts however they inspire you! You can put both prompts in one piece if you want to, but you can also just use one of them. Or you can combine prompts from different days. We’ll tag the reblog with whatever prompts you say you were using.

HEY, my mind wont shut up about your really angsty (really cool) Sheith art. I wanted to ask, how did you even do that? How did clicking the image make it something else entirely? (Sorry if this is somwthing really basic but i just cant comprehend it) Also thanks for tearing my heart out; it was fantastic (and a shock to my soul, but fantastic)

I’m not exactly sure how to explain it? Basically I just played with the opacities and order of the layers, and colors of the lineart. The first image you see has hard black lines and low opacity black shading (it’s not gray. Just a layer of black w/ very low opacity). The second image when you click on it, the layers are on top of the initial image. The white has super low opacity as well so it doesn't completely obscure the first image.

I mainly just looked at other artwork with similar premises and observed how it works. I looked at these wonderfully angsty pieces: 1 2 3

Your writing style is really, really pretty. It's got this introspection to it, and its just... it just feels so carefully worded that every word seems to echo and just kind of linger.
