“Since bartenders seem to know the secrets of the world, do you know any good mechanics around here?” Straight to business, Anthony had barely started drinking, but he knew the bartender would have an idea. If he hadn’t been in town on business the troubles wouldn’t have been an issue; he could be done with this within the hour back home. Now however, he was caught without a good indication, and the bartender seemed to be the best option. “Preferably someone really good.” @theinfernalsouls

“That’s where the gingerbread comes in.” Maybe Zo had gone a little overboard, but he wanted to do everything possible to ensure Harlow had a good Christmas. He understood now why so many celebrations and times to be joyous were less for her, and if he could do something to make that even a sliver less so, he would. “There’s some fresh gingerbread in the kitchen, and it contains your first clue.” He chuckled, trying to hold his joy in and not overwhelm her. “But you better bet quick, or I’ll eat them all and then send you in blind anyway.”
“Without a doubt, this has to be the worst time of year. It’s always so cold and miserable.”@theinfernalsouls

Half past three. That was the time on his watch and Nate couldn’t believe that of all days work had to stretch out to ridiculous hours it was then. He loosened his tie as he quietly entered the bedroom, where Cadence lay sound asleep. Even asleep, she could afford to look flawless. He emptied his pockets and quietly climbed atop of her, making sure not to crush her body and rudely awaken her. “Cadence,” he whispered, hoping to wake her up gently. The last thing he would’ve wanted was to know that she had gone to sleep feeling bitter that he had not returned her texts when she asked if he was already done with work.
“That might be the weirdest thing I’ve heard in my life. And that’s saying something..”
