how frequently do you mourn the time jem and will did not get together?
If I’m being honest, almost everyday. I don’t go a singe day without even thinking of the infernal devices

Jocelyn: *holding Clary* I don't know how we would give her the blessings, don't get me wrong, we would need a Silence Brother
Tessa: *stares at the camera like she is in the Office*
"i asked chatgpt" well i asked will herondale and he made up a terrible poem about demon pox
Since @tessherongraystairs & @petalsofaflower-shutupthomas are bullying me about it…here it is 😒
“So…” Will started, unable to hide his awkwardness. “You’re Jem’s woman, the one he wrote Honeycomb for.”
Tessa snorted, adjusting the baby girl snuggled to her breast. “His woman? No, I prefer the term wife. That ring of his isn’t for show.”
“I didn’t think it was.”
“And you’re the man they hired to sing it with him.”
“I am indeed.”
There was an awkward silence between them. Tessa was heartbreakingly beautiful, not that Will expected anything else of the muse that had so captured Jem’s very heart and soul. She was clever too, there was a brilliance hiding behind those grey eyes.
Tessa Gray-Carstairs wasn’t one to be underestimated. Will wouldn’t make that mistake.
“What do you think?”
“Of the song?”
“Yes. But also no,” she smirked. “Jem. What do you think of him?”
I think he’s the only person who’s ever made me think I might possibly be worth something. He thought, but didn’t say. “He’s a good songwriter, the best I’ve worked with. He really puts his soul into the music.”
“Jem pours his soul into everything, you’ll find. His heart too, be careful not to break it.”
Will stiffened. “Who says I’m going break his heart?”
“I know your type, Will Herondale. You’re always breaking hearts, even when you don’t mean to.” Tessa said with a smile that didn’t meet her eyes. “But the band needs you and Jem seems to like you, at least a little bit, so I might as well give you the benefit of the doubt.”
“With a warning?”
“Just so you know where we stand.” The baby on her chest started to cry, causing Tessa to make her way out of the room, turning to look back at Will before she left;
“Who knows? Maybe you’ll be the next McCartney and Lennon.”
*also the aforementioned baby is Mina, she’s older than James & Lucie in this AU, and they come much, much later
**and the band is: Jem (Billy), Sophie (Graham), Jessamine (Karen), Gabriel (Eddie), & Henry (Warren)
***Charlotte & Gideon are involved somehow, I just don’t know how yet
She went to him. Because he was Will, even if not her Will, and Will had not always been hers. She had not fallen in love with him because he belonged to her, but because she belonged to him.
— Tessa Herondale, Better in Black
Thinking of Jace now, he realized whom the warlock woman Tessa had reminded him of. Her expression, serious but with a quiet light behind it, was exactly Jace’s when he was playing the piano.
— my favourite writing tool of cc's is that every single character that's descended down a bloodline carries the mark of their ancestors. while tessa hid her truth about her connection to the herondales possibly because of the uprising/stephen but it is in jace that she lives. in his wit, in his expression and his white scar tessa's love for will and their family lives on
“Draw an open rune on the door,” she whispered. “Break it down.”
“Wonderful.” Will brightened. “I do love crime.”
— he's my favourite herondale
My loves, I need you help: Does anyone know where the classic „Herondales love but once“ hails from? Like from what book is it from and who says it?!?
