HP AU - The Game Is On - Mads & Sybille
Mads Leclair was notoriously argumentative. Not due to being particularly opinionated, which she was, or because of an antagonistic nature, which she may or may not have had. Mads liked arguments because of the wit they required. Going back and forth, exchanging observations and opinions, being forced to remain mentally on one’s toes. Arguments were slightly more exciting than discussions, generally speaking, which were more entertaining than simple conversation. Flirting though, flirting could rival an argument if done correctly.
The bar of the Hog’s Head was cool and slightly sticky under Mad’s elbow as she surveyed the patrons. She wanted a repartee, a battle of wits, something to make the Hogsmeade weekend interesting enough to be worthwhile, and flirting was like arguing but less likely to end in a fight, and therefore the perfect past time. She’d probably find her way to the workers of the village’s pubs at some point- she always did, and trying to flirt alcohol out of them was a diversion exactly up Mads’ alley- but Sybille Delacroix was seated across the room, and, well, Mads wasn’t going to pass up that opportunity.
She crossed the room, smile curving her lips into something anticipatory as she very purposefully hitched her skirt higher on her hips and dropped down into the chair across from the Slytherin. “You know, I’ve come to the conclusion that uniform robes exist for the sole purpose of turning every single student into a shapeless lump, therefore stripping us of both individual identity and, well...” Mads cast a glance around the room at the various uniform-less students in the room before letting her gaze linger on Sybille across the table, smile widening slightly, “doing essentially the opposite of stripping us in every other way.”
