in my dreams, i feel someone watching and waiting for me. always different, always the same. i catch their eye and, for a moment, it's as if i've woken. everything is clear and i can remember. then i am distracted, and when i look back they are retreating from sight. i follow, but they are just out of reach. i try to find that feeling of wokenness to control my actions, but the ending stays the same. i forget what i was searching for in the first place.
