hot take but if the show hadn't relied so hard on casting big name Lea Michele and instead pushed itself more on the merits of the score (which famously is what has sustained the show all these years) and leaned harder into the ABBA of it all this wouldn't be happening and the producers could have trusted it to continue with replacement casting. they relied to heavily on celebrity and this was inevitable with that.
