It was the first day of kindergarten for her little boy. She wasn’t worried, not when she knew that Levi could take care of himself (Kenny had been a good babysitter choice, no matter what others told her). What did worry her was the possible reactions her son might have upon finding out that he will need to spend the whole day with other kids his age and without Kuchel by his side. They said that most children cried.
“Levi, remember what mom told you about yesterday? That you will have to stay in the big boy school while I’m working?“ She crouched down to be on the same eye-level with Levi, her fingers sliding through the short black strands of hair. Maybe her boy won’t be the crying kind, just the quietly pouting one.
