Me? Date Steve? He’s a great guy… and really hot but I don’t see it happening.
That being said, dating Steve would be fun and a bit weird. As I said, he’s a great guy. He’s very considerate (when he isn’t breaking into my apartment and drinking all my milk), we enjoy a lot of the same things, and he’s generally fun to be around. I would never tell him this but I look forward to his break-ins. Hell, I might even leave my spare key in his jacket pocket one of these days. He’s in my apartment when I walk in so often he’s practically my roommate so it’s not like I’d be seeing him more often were we dating.
If Steve and I were dating I could imagine him being the perfect gentleman. I can also easily see this getting real old real fast. He’s ancient and I’m from the future. Our experiences regarding gender roles and what is acceptable in a relationship may be very different. I wouldn’t want to make him uncomfortable by doing something a woman during the 1940s wouldn’t. Granted, he’s adapted to me well so far so my worries may be for nothing.
It would be a bit weird because in a lot of ways Steve reminds me of my brother. God, once I get back to 2260 I’m going to hug Jason and never let him go.
That’s another problem we would have in our relationship, a silent source of tension. While we are both time travelers, so to speak, I’m from the future and need to get back. This would mean I’d be spending our entire relationship trying to leave him. It’s great being with someone who is in a similar boat but he cannot follow when I leave. It wouldn’t be fair to him and it would ruin the time line.
As for sex… Well, sex with me is always good so there are no worries there. Of course, there could be issues if he insisted on waiting until marriage or some crap like that.
Oh god, I really rambled a lot on that, didn’t I? Tl;dr (as they said in the early 21st century) dating Steve would be fun and really… nice but it couldn’t last.
Though he was very understanding when I mixed up our apartments and crawled into his bed after electrocuting myself while trying to contact the Enterprise...
No, no, it wouldn't work. He might be destined to meet the future Mrs. Rogers sometime soon but wouldn't be able to pursue anything with her because he was with me. No, we can't risk the paradoxes it might cause.
