Arson really wasn't the type to play with shadows on dark nights, in dark parts of town where teenagers shouldn't go. But on occasion, curiosity got the best of him... especially when that shadow didn't move right. "Shadow? Are you following me again?" He called out, stepping into the alley.

     ”Wha’—WHA’?!” That made no sense, did it? If you were going to carve someone’s eyes out you weren’t going to do it with a spoon, were you? Spoons didn’t carve, knives carved. Spoons scooped.

Nightly Tremors

Iris had been on the road for a few days now trying to get to the city that held answers for her. She wanted to get her mutation under control. She needed to. Without that, running away from home would have been pointless. Her eyes were glossy and her body ached. She needed to sleep somewhere warm and safe. She looked around the town she was in, spotting a small and friendly looking Inn.

She walked through the doors spotting a disinterested girl that seemed to be in her early twenties. She was reading a wedding magazine circling the dresses that she liked with a purple sharpie. She peered up at Iris rolling her eyes, "What do you want? We don't got a room for people without money..." 

Iris swallowed hard reaching into her pocket to take out a hundred dollar bill and laid it down on the counter where the girl still busied herself looking through the magazine. She peered up at the bill and then at Iris, "Alright... So you want a room, for what? Two nights?" Iris shook her head and softly spoke up, "No just one night please..." The woman rung her up and gave her $50 for change with a key, "Your room is 38B on the second floor to the left. Just take the elevator and you'll see it." 

Iris nodded her head quickly following the woman's directions and making it to the room. She grabbed the do not disturb sign and immediately put it on the outside handle. When she walked in the room was already dark and silent. The bed was white and was visible in the darkness, making it seem even more inviting than it already was to her. Iris went to the bathroom only to wash her face before heading towards the bed. She took off her pants and shirt grabbing a flannel to sleep with and tucked herself into the warm sheets.

She fell asleep instantly from how exhausted she was walking without any rest until now. While fast asleep, she started to dream.

Death crossed his arm, tapping his foot. "I am not happy with you Pitch." he greeted the boogeyman. 

"Pulling that little stunt in trying to kill Sandman, put me off schedule for about a week."
