Again! Kun totally tricked you yet again! How did you let him do that to you? And why? You were thinking a million thoughts a second as you walked down the garage ramp, feeling that the walk to the elevators’ door was going to be endless. Facing the night guard on why you were visiting this late without having any previous notice was another ordeal. Your art of lying will have to improve if you were going to deal with the idol SM and Lavel V had entrusted you with or so it seemed.
“Ah… Qian Kun Dàrén… ah… fuck. I don’t know honourifics in Chinese. What do I say?”
You pointed with your finger for the guard to wait, getting your phone and the translator app ready to translate that you were bringing medicine to the dorm for Kun, but luckily you heard Kun call the guard from afar telling him something that sounded convincing enough for him to let you in. You just wondered what the guard would think about your strange meeting point, when you could literally go from the building entrance and meet at the lobby and end of story.
Why was this man so twisted and strange and just merely uncomfortable. Even though his smile and the way he bowed at the garage guard made it look like he was a true living angel, at least with the amount of apologies you could understand in Mandarin.
“Come here!”
Kun motioned for you to follow him knowing better than to call him angel when he was just about to switch that button converting into Lucifer at your least favorite place making your phobia take over your adult body and subconscious.
“Wait for me, Kun-ssi, please.” You ran towards him trying to ignore the fact that you were in a very quiet, very dark and very empty garage, making each step you took echo in your ears sounding a million times louder.
“You’re gonna have to improve that Mandarin of yours.” He commented in the most irritating tone as he walked.
His hands were inside his pockets making his rear side look the roundiest and most attractive focusing on nothing but it. The target that called you like a magnet.
“Please, Kun-ssi.” You desperately called.
He halted removing his hands from his pockets hearing your steps getting closer. He turned around as you colidied over his chest making him take 2 steps backwards to avoid falling back.
“Whoa, whoa! Slow down missy!” He wrapped his arms around you. “It’s just a garage. Are you that scared? Or this is an excuse to have me hug you?”
You stayed there for a second too long. “I hate this place.”
“That bad?” He looked at you. “Are you alright?”
“Why are you doing this to me? Do you really enjoy the suffering of other people?”
“I was trying to be playful, but I didn’t know you had a real phobia.” Kun explained. “Let’s get out of here.” He took your hand heading towards their van.
The action was welcomed, but it was too much for a 2-day relationship. Was this man reading too much into that innocent bump? You didn’t want problems with SM, especially as the place was full of CCTVs. Didn’t they have some sort of Dispatch in China? You were certainly warned before travelling, so why was he being so reckless?
“Where are we going?” You asked as he opened the door for you to sit next to the driver’s seat. “Are you driving me somewhere? What if they see us?”
“How many questions are those?” He laughed, closing the door behind you.
He took the driver’s seat coming close to you feeling that he was going for it. That was it. Qian Kun was going to kiss you in the lips…
You shut your eyes closed, stiffening. “Don’t!”
“Seat belt, ___. Geez… did you really think I’d kiss you just like that?” He laughed loudly starting the car. “You’re so cute.”
You opened your eyes placing your hand on your forehead making a hood for your eyes embarrassed, thinking that it was the perfect timing for aliens to abduct you.
“Where are we going?” You broke the silence almost whispering.
“Sightseeing. I’ll buy us something nicel. Why? No one did that for you in Korea?”
No.
No one ever did that for you. Not even Junmyeon ever offered to take you anywhere. Buy you food or spend time with you alone… Maybe they weren’t that similar after all.
“Why me?”
“Why not? I need human interaction other than the boys at the dorm, and we’re lucky that at least when we promote in China it’s not SM’s building. Lavel V doesn’t have us caged like SM has us in Korea.”
“It’s just weird. You can have any interaction with whom you want.”
“Yeah right…” Kun drove away looking at you for a second. “I’m not talking to any other female idol in SM because for starters, they are scary thin and… and I just don’t want that kind of relationship, besides, I’m Chinese, they probably wouldn’t even want me either.”
“I’m your personal shopper, Kun-ssi, I cannot be anything else. If they know what we’re doing I’m more than fired and you wouldn’t have it easy either. It’s not worth it”
“You’re reading too much into it, ___.” Kun winked at you and you were ready to be admitted into hospital because your heart was giving you pre-heart-attack signs.
He was way too much for you. You weren’t ready for this type of treatment in such short period of time.
“So what is what you want from me exactly?” You inquired wanting to hear a clear answer.
“Bubble tea? You like it?” He replied with yet another teasing question instead of answering.
You thought that he was a direct type of person. Maybe your guess was based on wrong messages he sent you, or maybe you were the one reading him totally wrong.
He drove through a very interesting bubble tea establishment putting a black facemask and a black cap on.
“Wow! This place is so nice!”
“What would you like?”
“I hate bubble tea.” You confessed making a disgusted face.
“What? Are you for real?” Kun asked cutely.
It was time to order and Kun just ordered away. He drove to the collection point taking his yucky bubble tea giving it to you as well as a big cone of what looked like chocolate mint ice-cream.
Impressive. Kun not only memorised your phobias, but he also memorised what you liked.
He closed the window driving, still holding your ice-cream. Before offering his bubble tea you watched how he opened his mouth like Jaws biting on it, making a hole on the previously perfect ball.
“Is that ice-cream for you? But I don’t like bubble tea.”
“Yuck! What the fuck? It really tastes like toothpaste.” He gave you the eaten from ice-cream.
Did he expect you to eat after him? Why would you? He was nothing to you. You couldn’t even call him a friend. He was your annoying boss.
You took the ice-cream quietly looking at it after you gave him his bubble tea. He took a loud sip of his drink offering you to try it. He wanted to actually put your lips over his straw?
“Try it! This one is Chinese, not Korean!” He exclaimed offended when you made a disgusted face. “Why do you hate it? It sure is much better tasting than frozen toothpaste.”
“It’s the tapioca pearls.” You confessed. “They look like tadpoles, and when they are in my mouth… eeew!” You explained making Kun laugh.
He took a big sip of his drink swallowing the liquid opening his mouth showing you the pearls in his mouth moving his tongue. “Yummy tadpoles!”
You laughed. You genuinely laughed forgetting that this was your direct boss. He felt natural and comfortable forgetting about all the misunderstandings if you could call them that, but in order to forget them you would have to ask him why he was acting the way he did before.
“Are you having fun? It’s the first time I’ve seen you smile since we met.” Kun commented.
“You were acting a bit strange. I was very confused, you made me go to the garage…”
“I’m still strange. I only behave differently with you.” He laughed sipping on his tadpoles parking the van.
The place was overlooking Huangpu river. It was the Pudong side of Shanghai with its enormous collection of ridiculously tall skyscrapers. It was breathtaking and quiet and just the perfect atmosphere alone with this mysterious man that made noises as he drank his disgusting drink was like a fairytale dream.
“This is really nice. Thank you for bringing me here.” You finally relaxed, licking on your melting ice-cream.
“Did you know that what you did is considered an indirect kiss? You basically have swallowed my saliva.”
You looked at the ice-cream before looking at him in panic. Did he just say indirect kiss? Kun saw the panic in your face and decided to come forward, licking the ice-cream after you.
“What are you doing?”
“Now we’re even.” He exaggeratedly licking his lips.
Oh he was fun. Qian Kun was fun and you were almost this close to not regret coming here. Junmyeon barely popped in your mind… You were enjoying this, admittedly.
“I think you should head home. I fear if the guys wake up and don’t find you there.”
“Tsk. I’m taking you home.” Kun decided.
“No you can’t be seen at my home or taking me home or anything like that.” You shook your hands making your ice-cream fall on your lap.
Kun cracked up laughing at how you looked. He bent down looking like he was going to eat it off your lap but you stopped him by pressing on his forehead.
“You’re really fun to tease. I wasn’t going to. Unless you really want me to.” He smirked making you even more nervous with all the unasked for comments.
You opened the door of the van making the ice-cream fall on the ground getting some wipes to wipe yourself as good as you could letting the cold breeze hit your cheeks, because this man was not slowing down one bit. He didn’t even give you any hints, he just went with it as he pleased.
Kun got out of the van himself still laughing. You looked at him as you crouched, trying to clean what you’ve created on the ground. Kun gave you an empty bag to throw all the soiled with ice-cream wipes. Once done, he motioning with his head to get going.
“I’ll take a taxi.”
“Over my dead body I’d let you take a taxi at this hour.” He offered his hand to make you stand. “Come on. I’ll be cautious, besides I'm not inviting myself to your place.” You released a relieved breath. “Not yet at least.” He grinned like the fucker he was.
~~~
Today was going to be a busy day. WayV was getting their hair done to match the style proposed as the following day they had a photoshoot.
Your eyes fell on Kun already while everyone was seated at the long meeting room table. You wanted everyone to leave to check his new blonde hair up closer. You looked at him from time to time as the manager explained. You looked from the documents in front of you raising your head slightly to look at Kun who was completely submerged in work.
When was this meeting going to end?
~~~
Finally and after almost 2 hours of intense meetings, it was over. You acted busy looking at the documents typing away letting everyone know that you’d stay at the meeting room to finish work. Kun patted on his bandmates’ backs to also make them leave until the door closed behind everyone leaving you alone with Kun.
You walked up to him trying to look unaffected, But the way he grinned made it impossible. “Your hair and the bleach.” You made a worried expression in your face as your hand moved trying to touch it.
“You just want to ruffle my hair.” Kun grabbed your wrist, stopping you.
“It feels really damaged. I think the bleach they are using here is worse than the one hairstylists use in Korea.”
“But you want to touch it.” Kun smirked, pulling your wrist to bring you closer.
“Yes I want to touch it because I need to know the damage.” You tried, making sure you sounded professional.
“Just say it, for fucks sake.” He pushed his tongue inside his cheek. “Say you want to feel… me… I mean my hair.” He teased.
“Let me touch your hair because it’s not healthy at all. What’s with comeback season and just trashing the idol’s hair with bleach? It’s beyond me!”
“Wrong answer.” He pulled you closer, grabbing your other wrist to prevent you from escaping or trying to touch his hair with that free hand that was no longer free.
“I want to touch your hair, please.” You swallowed making eye contact for the first time since he started to be this direct. “I want to touch your hair and ruffle it. I want to feel… nghrr, your hair, Kun.” He raised his eyebrows a few times teasingly. “I want to feel your hair and ruffle it, Kun-ssi.” You repeated because where was the lie…? You did want to, damn it!
Kun left your wrists placing them over his shoulders as you shyly gathered your fingers together. You looked away for a second before feeling his fringe parting his hair with both hands. Kun tilted his head playfully from side to side trying to meet your eyes again.
“Look at me!”
“Stop acting like that. I can’t focus or work.” You moved his head down to see his hair from the crown of his head. “This is not acceptable. What the hell did they put on your head? Did it burn or itch?”
Kun nodded pouting. “Yes, noona, so very much.”
“Noona?” You laughed beautifully. “Nice one.”
Kun loved seeing you smile like that. Even though he hated the effect. He didn’t want to see you in a cute way or make his heart weaken. He just wanted the action with his very own personal shopper. That’s what it was all about. No feelings, just fun.
A notification rang on your phone leaving his hair to open your handbag. He watched how you looked through the pockets, almost as if you were waiting for something or news of some sort.
Did he feel jealousy and craving for that attention?
You unlocked the phone smiling as you covered your mouth with your hand. They must be good news. He was impatient and almost waiting for you to share them with him, but he couldn’t show he was that interested in you either. Qian Kun didn’t work like that. Besides, you didn’t even comment on how he pouted before. He never pouted for anyone. Why weren’t you being more nervous around him lately and why were you damn smiling at your phone like that for? Or better said, for who?
“Kun-ssi! I need... I need to go back to Seoul tonight. I’ll be back tomorrow night, I promise.”
“No.” He simply refused, crossing his arms over his chest.
He just denied you without asking, as if he didn’t care, but he was actually dying to know.
Why? Who were you going to go to Seoul for that made you smile like that?
“Please, Kun-ssi.” You came closer gathering your hands begging. “It’s really really important for me. I HAVE to go.” You begged. “You won’t feel my absence and I won’t ask for any exceptions ever again.”
“I said no.” He walked away taking his hat.
You ran standing in front of him stopping him to look at you. “Please please. Pretty please.”
“Why? As far as I know you have no family in Korea. What’s going on?”
Oh… right. It came the time to tell him the reason, of course you weren’t going to get away with an approval without a good reason, but was it prudent to just tell him? Should you lie? What if he discovers the truth? Would you just tell him the truth and fuck it altogether? Maybe he wouldn't mind…
“So… there’s this thing I need to attend… nothing major… everyone is alright. No bad news.” You smiled playing with your hands at your back waiting for an approval just like that and easy.
“Yes, what is it?” Kun tried again
“I’ll tell you, because I don’t like hiding anything from my boss.” You smiled trying to act and sound cute.
Kun was that type. Eat him for lunch before he has you for dinner. Act cute and make him feel you’re his. He craved and was a sucker for that shit.
“Your boss.” He repeated. “Good that you know who your boss is, who just said no. Especially as you just said my hair is ruined and we have a photoshoot exactly tomorrow. You can’t be away.”
“But you won’t need me there if I fix your hair today. I know the flight to Seoul is at midnight. You should be sleeping by then. Just please let me go. I’ll work extra and let you take me to the garage and stay with you throughout a whole photoshoot there if you wanted to. I’ll jump on a windmill if that would please you.”
“Wow, that much? I’ll admit that now I really want to know why you need to go to Seoul.”
“Less than 24 hours. Kun-ssi, please.” You sounded nasal and just fake cute.
Kun wasn’t buying all this bullshit. He let you come closer and pull his shirt in a way that forced him to look at your fingers that reached for him for the first time willingly. It was pissing him off, to say the least.
“Why do you need or are dying to go to Seoul?” He asked with a serious tone.
“So the thing is, Byun Baekhyun’s stylist told me that… she said that…”
“Fucking what!?” He pushed your fingers away from him, frowning.
“Junmyeon-ssi has 24 hours off duty, because you know, he’s meeting with the guy-”
“WHAT!?” Kun yelled a little bit too dramatically. “You want to go to Seoul to meet with Junmyeon sunbae? Even though you’re on a tight schedule with me?”
Maybe saying the truth wasn’t a good idea. Kun looked as if you had just insulted him. It couldn’t be jealousy. He was just one of those insolent little boys who didn’t want to share their new toy.
“What’s wrong with me wanting to see my boss- I mean.”
“Your what?” Kun slapped his forehead walking the opposite way. “HE!” Kun stopped to look at you in the eye. “Is no longer your boss, because I am.” He added. “And You are not going. End of discussion.” He moved you away with the back of his hand to leave.
You held his hand stopping him, but he just shoved it. “Kun-ssi! Kun-ssi! Please let m-”
“Do something for my hair. Be punctual for the photoshoot. As a matter of fact, the photographer’s assistant is sick, so you’d do a great job for all of us, I’m sure. Good opportunity to show how good you are at your job.”
Kun was mad…
Very…
Very mad…
