These six things doth the LORD hate: Yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, Feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, And he that soweth discord among brethren. Prov 6:16-19 The quote, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me" is a misconception. It's something merely said to try to mask the stinging pain that the words actually caused. We need to think before we speak. Especially those of us who are walking around calling ourselves "Christians". Especially when it's concerning other Children of God. The Bible says, "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver." Prov 25:11 The Bible also says, " Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." Eph 4:29 Is what you're about to say edifying, or uplifting? Or will it tare down, be malicious, and sow discord? Will it lead others to view a particular person in a less than Godly manner? Could what you're about to say be misconstrued, or taken in the wrong way? Is it going to put a black mark on someone's character, or ruin their reputation? Sometimes we may even say something that's true, but it could come out wrong, and end up hurting somebody's feelings. Think about it, before you say it. Wounds will heal, but words can never be unspoken!! #Think #theladyroc https://www.instagram.com/p/CVNsSyIFGml/?utm_medium=tumblr
