Dark

Who is Dark? What is Dark? Dark is an embodiment of hatred, intrusive thoughts, and other negative feelings and twisted desires of Kaitlyn. She is sadistic, megalomaniacal, has a narcissistic god-complex, vulgar, greedy, lustful, sinful, selfish, and vengeful. She's kinda a separate identity... and kinda not... she's the dark version of True Face or Kaitlyn's most honest self. She was always part of Kaitlyn, everyone has their 'suppressed shadow' or 'shoulder devil' after all, but only really became more of an entity via Kaitlyn's shadow magic and emotions going haywire after Stithulf's corrupting actions and other traumas Kaitlyn had endured and built of hatred from....

Under normal circumstances Dark would hardly ever take over. Maybe Kaitlyn has an intrusive thought or a brief creepy moment of wanting to hurt someone out of anger, but it quickly passes, and she'll have restraint. However, under intense hatred and stress with a side of helplessness, Kaitlyn will more likely give into darker thoughts and actions when desperate. (Like when she got desperate mindset to save Past while confronting Xander's stubbornness in breaking his curse. @tweetiepea-rps)

Dark may be evil, aggressive, and selfish personality wise, but she also functions as a defense mechanism of sorts. Dark came to be because of Kaitlyn at one point feeling completely powerless at hands of cruelty and deep desire for revenge. Dark wants to takeover Kaitlyn, but in a warped way sees that as saving them and making them stronger. "These people aren't worth your empathy. Look how they used your kindness and treated you like a mere gift giver. They don't care about us. They hurt us and laugh. LAUGH! What smug smiles they wear! Who put them in charge? We should be the ones in power and give em a taste of their own medicine. Why shouldn't we rule anyway? Look at these fools on their high horse thinking they are above us... How dare they treat us as dirt. How would they like it? They should learn how we feel! We should make them feel like we did. They won't learn unless they feel our pain they caused. Why shouldn't we be the ones smiling?"

Dark is very dangerous to deal with when she's in control as she will do what it takes to get what she wants and doesn't care if she hurts others to do that. However, 9 times out of 10 Dark can be reasoned with...perhaps for price at times as you would have to appeal to her broken sense morality and desires. While all her morals and feelings are screwed up versions of normal Kaitlyn regular morals... even though twisted, **most** of those feelings and beliefs ARE still partly intact. She'll still feel the need to keep those she had bonded with around as well as hesitate to do anything brutal to children.

Now Dark is still dangerous even towards loved ones. Don't be mistaken thinking that she wouldn't hurt friends and family, she will, BUT will be less like to outright kill them or even resurrect and heal them if an 'accident' does happen. She'll also still be rough with kids and not exactly filter her language around them either, but again won't do anything physically brutal towards them. And she will never try to actually hurt an infant despite making threats to. Even the twisted Dark Kaitlyn has things she won't do.

The Layers: Positive (Light), Default, Negative (Dark) Modes

Each layer/persona has three modes to their standard personality. Some of the modes are more noticeable in certain layers over others.

Surface

positive: Is extra friendly and more willing to do nice things for others.

default: Friendly 1st layer that's basically trying to project some form of normality although 'quirks' are still allowed to show. Just regular goofy Kaitlyn.

negative: Very grumpy, a bit snippier than usual, less likely to be helpful towards others. Shows more selfishness.

Jester

positive: Actively tries to cheer up others and entertain.

default: The singing, joking, rhyming, and at times passive aggressive 2nd layer. Always cracking jokes or trying to rhyme while speaking. Mainly humors herself to de-stress but will entertain others if they're around.

negative: A lot nastier and uses humor to maliciously humiliate others for her own enjoyment. Also may be murdery. Very rude.

Depraved

positive: Is protective of others she cares about. Only shows a slightly softer (but still gross) side to them and a cold monster to perceived threats. I guess a bit yandere-ish.

default: Created as a defense mechanism to scare/gross out others away from her. Acts like a creepy overly sexual killer, lustful not only for flesh but blood too, ...but is normally bluffing on her threats. Very edgy and disgusting, but is only trying to protect herself.

negative: Is serious and will actually do any vulgar thing she threatened to do. Is actually dangerous and cares more about herself in a more selfish way. Less willing to protect others, including loved ones, over herself or her pride. Selfish and crude.

Numb

positive: Still suppressed emotions, but is active. Walks with purpose and blank expression. Determined to complete whatever objectives she has. I guess somewhat similar to agent 47 if I were to make a comparison.

default: Numb but not heartless, just suppressed emotions and depressed. Mostly lays around, but will sluggishly help in the case of emergency.

negative: Numb turns into Apathy. Worst version of Numb. Won't help anyone even in an emergency, just lays around and waits to die from starvation or dehydration.

True Face

positive: Light, truest self's positive qualities. Acts innocent, hates swearing, doesn't swear, very loyal, eager to help others, willing to sacrifice herself, very honest, lacks lust and rage, full of love, full of peace.

default: Kaitlyn's truest unfiltered self. Incapable of lying. Partly childish(Child half), partly defensive(Monster half).

negative: It's Dark. All negative, bitter, sadistic thoughts and personality traits cranked up. Twisted truths and deception. Lies by distorting true thoughts and taking feelings out of context. Most egotistical and selfish. Full of lust and rage.

So yeah mainly... positive mode is Kaitlyn focusing on others, neutral/default is just whatever the persona's typical personality is and are more focused on themself in a usually healthy way, and negative mode is a more selfish and malicious variant.

Surface: Go to a doctor, get treatment, rest. Like a normal healthy person.”

Jester: Tell your loved ones what’s going on. Sky, Past, Lex, Ezra, Xander and many others should know what is happening with you. If we die, we at least will be with them in our final moments~ Comforted by others who care~ Instead of alone and scared~”

Depraved: GeT SaMUel sICk aND mAKe hIM SUFFER! ThEn eNsLaVe XaNDer and BrOOke to BE YoUr pERsOnAL PETS for play~! ESTABLISH DOMINANCE OVER ALL THE KINGDOMS. AND FINALLY GO TO THE DOCTOR OR FENRIR AND GET CURED! ....Oh aNd DoN’T LeT Sky ArrESt uS fOr bioTeRRorISm...nor aLLow AzRiEl, JacQuEliNe, or LunETTe to desTroY yOu.”

Numb/Apathy: Sweet release of death at last.... No. As depressed as we are, you shouldn’t go yet. They still need us. ...Think of the kids...”

MONSTER: GO TO THE DOCTOR’S ALREADY, MORON!”

CHILD: Why are we letting ourself suffer? Please get help!”
