“Zant the Usurper King (or the Two Faced Jester)” 🤡🎭 [#TwilightPrincess 16th Anniversary]: Throughout the #Hero of #Time and his descendants/ancestors’ many, MANY battles against the forces of #Evil, none of his #Enemies fascinates yours truly like the megalomaniacal, machiavellian, and utterly delusional #Zant the #Usurper or #UsurperKing, but as the title suggests... the Twilight Princess #Midna’s arch-nemesis is nothing more than a sad and pathetic, two faced #Jester. A jester who played his role as #Ganondorf/#Ganon’s puppet so very well, something he wouldn’t realize until the moment came when his so-called “God” was defeated by #Link, and Ganondorf desperately tried to regain the last bit of power he offered to Zant, before the latter did something... unexpected. He SNAPPED his own neck, killing Ganondorf in the process. He did this from beyond the #MortalRealm, due to having witnessed Ganondorf’s UNGodly nature, which to say was a “disappointment” to Zant is quite the understatement. It would seem in the end, the two faced jester got the last laugh. What made Zant so fascinating as an #Antagonist, and this applies to Link’s climactic battle with him, was how... as cunning, deceptive, and methodical as Zant was, NONE of his actions and the executions of his plans, would have been possible without the powers bestowed upon him by his Lord Ganondorf. Even during his battle with Link, Zant had to resort to using the powers of Link’s previous enemies, his minions, before inevitably facing the two faced jester himself, something Zant couldn’t even manage properly. 🤦🏻♂️😅 The strange thing is, his frantic attacks and cries were so pitiable, it exposed the facade he created for himself. That of an “all-powerful, stoic, and respected King”, which Zant WISHED he was but clearly wasn’t.
