An Oppressive Future
Finally.
Light had finally created the perfect society-- free of criminals, free of opposers.
He was watching them closely though, to make sure nothing came up that was harmful. Microscopic cameras were placed everywhere, ranging from being within colleges, grocery stores, at traffic lights, people's homes, even bathrooms. It was to ensure everyone was protected--- Light had said. Most people believed him; some had slight suspicions, but otherwise succumbed to what he said.
Churches of Kira were placed around half of the world--- the other half of the world was still unconquered by the young ruler, but the the unconquered land was in support of Kira, so it was only a matter of time. People were not necessarily required to follow Light, but they were not allowed a negative viewpoint, only neutral or supporting. It was the same way for schools, and workplaces.
Kira.
A title and name. Who would ever thought it'd change the world this much?
A muttering and semi-excited crowd stood before a closed curtain. Light Yagami was getting ready, sliding on a nice blazer. Of course he need to look professional still; it was the proud part of him that spoke. To look like one of the very best, to be the very best. Once in awhile, the cruel ruler had to deliver speeches and talk to the people, update them on situations and whatnot and also make them feel worthwhile. Of course, they weren't.
The Savior.
That's the very name he named himself, in order to protect his identity.
He heard several people in the crowd call him out, and it absolutely made him smirk. Those fools, he had a bunch of people eating right out of his hands. He enjoyed it every minute, too. ''Time to do this.'' He muttered to himself, pulling a small portion of the curtain to come out into view. He walked up to his podium, adjusting the microphone which was placed onto it.
