The Lost Letter
Some days I wake up thinking no matter what happens today I’ll fail. I’ll flail around trying— I’ll be waiting by the mailbox.
No matter what happens today even if there is something good on TV, even if it’s payday I’ll be waiting by the mailbox (the dim-witted mailwoman delivers nothing).
Even if there is something good on TV, even if it’s payday I’m not leaving this town fast enough. The dim-witted mailwoman delivers nothing and I’m banned from my favorite Chinese restaurant in town.
I’m not leaving this town fast enough. Lovers are tacking my toes to the carpet and I’m banned from my favorite Chinese restaurant in town— No hope for delivery.
Lovers are tacking my toes to the carpet, I think about the post office knowing— no hope for delivery. The gas gauge is always red.
I think about the post office knowing I’ll fail, I’ll flail around, trying with the gas gauge in the red and some days I wake up thinking.
