Kiara Isabel Ivy

A slightly late Pride Month post :) 

Something I haven’t addressed before is the subject of Kiara’s own sexuality, with her being the face of my artwork. It’s honestly a hard question for me to answer because it’s not something that’s very blatant about her character or her story. You might think she’s straight because she’s shipped mainly with a man, but I will clarify that she is not simply that. Kiara’s preferred attraction doesn’t fall strictly in line with either men or women.

As a character inspired greatly by ROTG and even Jack himself, Kiara is young, very naive and rather clueless when it comes to her own feelings, let alone her feelings for someone else. In some ways she really was brought up within a box, so her perspective and knowledge of the outside world is basically underdeveloped. She doesn’t understand the way other emotions work to a full extent, despite being able to experience them on a personal level. She can be drawn to people easily because she’s very lonely and doesn’t want to stay that way. But as we all know finding love, and finding family or friendship are two different things.

Truthfully I would say she’s more… asexual, keeping in mind that an asexual individual could still fall in love. To further elaborate on that, she is not intrigued by sexual desires or intimacy. She doesn’t prioritize any romantic relationship with anyone in particular, but if it were to happen, as a fluid Pisces she’ll be breathtakingly and inconceivably in love, whether her partner is male or female.
