How are you tying with your eyes closed???

GF: It’s pretty easy actually! You just need to know which group of letters are on the phone buttons, memorize their placement, and you’re good to go.

GF: Then you keep pressing the key until you reach the letter, number or symbol you want. It’s much simpler than computer keyboards- There are only twelve ‘keys’, so to speak. It’s all a matter of remembering how it’s oriented.

GF: ...I made it sound too complicated than it really is. I promise it’s simpler than it sounds. 

GF: A kid once made fun of me for not typing fast enough on this thing.

since it is an au and i can go as ham as i like w artistic liberties-

- the baby photo in his locker isnt a stock photo and instead is one of him and joshua- and he gushes abt it at every possible opportunity- he goes FULL maes hughes on the scientists or guards or whoever would listen

- he tries... not to think of the past and events that lead up to him juggling doctorate/work and home life. he wants to be the very best dad for joshie and does an very good job as a single parent

- he and his brother johns family happened to move to the same area when he got the black mesa job- joshie is always gonna be in good hands when gordon gets very busy at work

- joshua is selectively mute and is learning asl- gordons already fluent at it ! two handed signs become a little bit challenging when hes getting used to the prosthetic-

- joshua putting his little hand on his arm stump is the most healing thing in the world ;_; phantom pains Who?

- thinking of joshua is the reason he gets up and running immediately after waking up from the apprehension ambush at least the first time around

- if faced with stasis, he will do everything he can to refuse because he is NOT going to leave joshua ever again. vr gordon may be reckless but he does want to survive and thrive so his son can have a normal childhood- or as normal as it gets before the seven hour war happens and the combine arrive. gman coolatta understands this

- He kind of wishes the support system he has now with the science team and freemen were there just a bit earlier- he was alone when he had joshua. It’s okay now bc joshua has many guardians :’)

- he considered having another kid! sibling for joshua ! he eventually reaches the point where he’s ready and this time has much, much more support on his side.

i havent thought too far ahead yet with the kid’s design and how itd work with hl2 setting yet- or if its just for domestic au route but either way

I was tempted to draw grumpuses with more animalistic features, and ended up opting to draw them with digitigrade leggies :)
