I came across this really nice picture today and wanted to share it with you all. The current moon phase is a Waning Crescent, which will last until Sept 6th, bringing the New Moon. 

This current phase is a good time to relax, tend to yourself, practice some self care, do some cleaning/cleansing, practice some meditation and be still. 

With the Waning Moon, bring some heavy, steady rainfall. Lucky for us, rainwater is good for many things! Collect some rainwater, all you need is a clean glass or a bowl places outside. 

Lighting storm rain (FIRE)–  will give extra power to spells while clearing & re-energizing. Rain collected during a lightning storm has the greatest amount of energy.  Remove strong negativity by soaking in this water

Wind storm rain (AIR) - must be stored in a glass bottle.  Use to empower spells for moving things forward. Such as letting go of the past, moving forward in your life, and getting out of a rut.

Tree and Flower Rain (Earth)– Rain collected from a tree, plant, and/or flower. Rain falls upon all of the earth, so in reality, everything holds the Earth Element when it rains.  

Anoint yourself and your chakra points

Use as an offering for spirit, ancestors or deities

Court Cards

Pages: As people, they often represent young, energetic people who are at the very beginning of their personal journey. Some big astrological events on the way - the Harvest Moon is coming this Monday, followed by the Equinox 2 days later, Mabon for those who celebrate, and Mercury retrograde will finish off the month. All are set to bring emotional unrest. 

There is a lot of change as we approach October. Focus on achieving balance, especially as your emotions are being challenged. Work on resolving small things within yourself and get plenty of rest.

Harvest Moon - September 21st 

The Harvest Moon refers to the time when farmers finish their harvest before the frost.

This full moon is in Pisces - bringing with it high emotional endings and moody emotions. Although the core of this moon is about embracing universal love and recognizing that everyone and everything is connected. 

Fall Equinox - September 23rd 

Marks the moment when the sun moves into t sign of Libra, and is the midway point. The moment when the energy radically shifts to take us to the next season. 

This is also when the holiday Mabon is celebrated - it is a spiritual celebration to honor the change of seasons. 

Mercury Retrograde - September 27th

Mercury controls communication, technology and travel - when in retrograde it brings disruptions, miscommunications and technological chaos. Hold off on any major purchases, decisions and judgements. Use this time to slow down and reflect on your ideas surround love and peacefulness. 

This is the last Mercury Retrograde of the year. Libra will be most affected. Libra is rules by Venus, who looks after business and finance, love and balance . Take extra care in these areas, watch your spending.

Spells

Spells work by manipulating energy to fulfill a specific intention or purpose. Spells are fueled by emotions, and they work in conjunction with your personal power or the energy in the world around you.

Magic is the energy that flows through every natural thing. It’s neutral energy that is neither good nor evil.

Power is the practical art of channeling magic for your use. When you begin bending and channeling magic, you are, in a sense, building up your personal power. It’s through manipulation that you can influence or control the energy around you.

·       Core Principles

The core principles of witchcraft relate to how we use energy to manifest change in our environment. Magic is all around us in the form of energy. Your intentions must follow the core principles.

Worshipping the environment and nature

Celebrating fertility and sexuality

Tapping into intuition and personal energy

Honoring karma and the natural balance of cosmic law

Knowing and understanding the Afterlife, Spirits and Reincarnation

·       Performing a spell

When you perform a spell, you either create new energy or manipulate existing energy. ‘Crafting’ refers to choosing a location for your spell, clearing away any unwanted energies, casting a circle of protection, raising energy and setting your intentions. ‘Casting’ refers to performing the spell, closing the circle of protection, and observing the results.

First you must decide a location and clear the area of unwanted old or negative energies.

Next, you must cast a circle of protection to protect yourself from unwanted attention or outside influences. There are many ways to cast a circle of protection; you can call on a god or goddess, or you may create your own wall of energy using crystals or candles.

Once in the circle of protection, you will draw from one or more energy sources to fuel the spell.

After the spell is complete, you must withdraw the energy from the spell to close the circle of protection, how you close the circle should mirror how you casted it.

·       Access your power

Access your personal power by clearing your mind and banishing distractions to achieve a relaxed, focused mental state. You can meditate for 5 to 10 minutes before your practice, or incorporate incense, candles or crystals.

Once you have cleared your mind, you now must center, raise and ground your energy. Centering is the initial process of visualizing your energy in order to access it. When you center your energy, you should be able to feel it expand and contract.

Next, you must raise your energy. You can use items like crystals, stones, moon water. If you use an item, hold the item in your hand and visualize your energy mixing with the item’s energy.

Once you have completed your spell, ground your energy to rebalance your energy levels. Get physically as close to the ground as you can, visualize your excess energy leaving your body as you focus on your breathing.

Minor Arcana

The minor arcana consists of 56 cards ad they represent everyday influences in our life. There are four elemental suits: Cups, Wands, Swords and Pentacles. In each suit, contain 10 numbered cards and 4 court cards.

The Numbers

Aces: Something new with vast potential is indicated with many Ace cards. Aces are pure energy without form- and it depends on you to shape it and bring the opportunities they represent. Because they are raw, they are also unstable, and can quickly overwhelm if not taking caution. Overall Aces represent Beginnings, Potential, Inspiration and Opportunity. 

Twos: As we leave the individuality of the ones, the twos are a taste of union. The twos represent harmony, and a merging of opposite forces to create a whole. Twos find us when we have a couple of opportunities and we are being asked to make a choice. Overall Twos represent Duality, Choices, Balance, Harmony and Partnership

Threes: Group dynamics rule the threes and they depict different outcomes that can occur when a group comes together. Threes also indicate an initial completion of a first phase. Overall Threes represent Groups, Completion, and Growth. 

Fours: Typically indicate that what was once internal has now manifested in physical reality. There may be decisions to make. Some foundation has been created and is ready to grow and evolve. The fours are the Universes way of pushing us to grow and move forward. Overall Fours represent Manifestation, Foundations, Stability and Structure. 

Fives: Fives bring the first challenge we have to overcome in our journey. It can indicate conflict with others, struggles or changes afoot. It is not the end, but it is a good time to examine mistakes you have made. Look within your self for a deeper reason of why to progress. To move forward, you have to push on. Overall Fives represent Conflict, Movement, Change, Challenges and Instability

Sixes: Sixes represent movement away from the conflict in the fives- whether they are internal, external, letting go or reconciliation. Overall Sixes represent Harmony, Adjustment, Alignment and Cooperation. 

Sevens: Sevens usually indicate that is is time to step back and introspect. The sevens ask us to assess and reevaluate the path we are taking. A pause is helpful to let things settle. Overall Sevens represent Reflection, Patience, Inquiry and Revaluation. 

Eights: A completion of a second phase, usually corresponds to an achievement. Growth is indicated here. Overall Eights represent Achievement, Changes, Rebirth, growth and Action.

Nines: Nearing completion is indicated here. What looks to be the finish, may just be a transitory stage. With the feeling of completion, it is usually just a pause before the final part of the cycle comes. Overall Nines represent Transition, Nearing completion and Fulfillment 

Tens: We see the actual completion of the cycle- from this point forward we can move towards a new beginning. Overall Tens represent Completing a cycle, Moving forward, and Ending of a cycle.

Libra Season is Ahead! 

The Sun transits this sign on average during the September equinox.

This occurs from September 23rd until October 22nd.

The symbol of Libra is the scales.

It is based on the Scales of Justice held by Themis ( the Greek personification of divine law and custom)

Libra is the only zodiac constellation in the sky represented by an inanimate object. 

Both the hours of the day and the hours of the night match each other during the “Libra season”.

This happens to be my FAVORITE season of the entire year, and October is the month I was born. I found a lot of these facts to be accurate to us Libra’s: 

In astrology, a broad description of those who are born under these signs are calm, rational, and detached when dealing with situations.

People who belong to the Libra Zodiac is said to be balanced, and quite logical.

Libras are said to be stubborn.

Libra often alternate between being totally busy to just wanting to sleep all day.

Since Libras are so balanced can be really emotionally unattached. This is why many people believe that a Libra doesn’t love them, but if fact they do- just in a different way.

Libras notice everything, since they are very observative. They won’t mention it though until the right moment comes.

When they get angry, they get angry a lot. This is why only themselves can actually get them relax.

They won’t easily give up on people, but when do there is no way back.

Libras hate being alone.
