was watching hadestown and 'if its true' hits hard every single time but this time i was thinking about hadestown being a timeloop and about 'history repeats itself' and how the same injustices keep happening over and over again in the world just like orpheus facing the same injustices over and over again and causing him to sing these words each time (is this how the world is / to be beaten and betrayed and then told that nothing changes?) but every time he challenges this being the way the world is (but who are they to say / what the truth is anyway?) (it isn't for the few / to tell the many what is true)
and yeah i've been kinda feeling hopeless about the world lately but every time these injustices repeat themselves there are also always people raising up their voices against them (i believe that we are many / i believe that they are few) and this musical is so so important today for so so many reasons and this is one of them
