there were far more important things to focus on than video games, and cassie knew that. hell, it was impossible not to know that things were sort of falling apart and everyone that could help should help. but right now she was sort of at a loss. she didn’t have a lot of information to go on, and franky she was just tired. there was no other way of putting it. cassie lang was spent. the riots that had occurred after that poor kid was shot had been horrific, and it was through sheer luck she’d survived in one piece. plus, university was pretty stressful itself - and you could sure as hell bet she wasn’t about to give up on univeristy to focus solely on being a hero, her mother would kill her.
video games were both a wonderful distraction and a good way to recharge. also, playing the sims on super speedy, wide screens at tony’s place was just FUN. it was nice to relax and joke with tony when he appeared now and then between jobs, and to have a sass-match with f.r.i.d.a.y. - and to see tony get in a huff when she made all the avengers and he ended up an old, short man. look, she was totally an ADULT but come on, who didn’t like the sims? the avengers were totally hers to control - and funnily it was the young avengers that kept coming out on top in the game.
stretching her arms above her, cassie let the console drop to the couch before swinging herself over the back off the couch. what was better than simply video games? snacks and video games, and she was all out of chips. wandering through the hall, feet clad only in slipper socks cassie made her way through to (one of) the kitchens. she tried to ignore any reflective surfaces, she didn’t really like seeing the large bruise on her right cheek - but considering some of the injuries others had received, some minor bruising and cuts was nothing.
cass was pleasantly surprised to see tony just before she got to the kitchen, her face lighting up with a grin. “hey! you’ve remembered to come out your little hermit cave to get food today. i’m impressed and proud of you~”
