A MADNA style ballad reflecting the bittersweet nature of love. This song in particular goes closely together with sweet dream.
According to interviews, when Takashi was writing the music he knew the lyrics would be something incredible. He wanted people to focus on and be drawn to the lyrics of the song rather than the track itself. Rio also said he had the same feeling of wanting the song to stand out and so was conscious of that when playing the drums. While keeping the volume very minimal, he dared to include some of THE MADNA's fastest drumming phrases.
The interviewer mentioned they feel like this song breaks new grounds for THE MADNA. Ryota said perhaps that’s because of its mature/adult side. As they are getting older, they want to express things that they can only express at their current age. They hoped the audience would get the sense of the band extending themselves and their abilities further than they ever have before.
世界線 World lines: Upon doing some research, I found that world lines are connected to the theory of relativity. Albert Einstein once wrote: “People like us who believe in physics know that the distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion. Time, in other words, he said, is an illusion.“
Through his discovery, Einstein showed that space and time are intertwined. He also showed that gravity is a curving or warping of space rather than an invisible force that attracts objects to one another. The basic idea is that just as gravity can stretch or warp space, it can also dilate time. So it seems that a world line is a time-like curve in spacetime. It’s the unique path that an object has as it travels through both space and time.
In science fiction movies they often base time travel off this; more specifically, time travel into the future. The Japanese word, 世界線 is also used to refer to different worlds or parallel worlds.
Therefore with this in mind, by lightly analyzing the end verse perhaps you could say that the two of them are searching for the world and the future that they can be together in. Although the end inevitably seems to draw near - they were so desperately trying to find a way to change the future. Their love forever eternalized inside a sweet dream.

A fictional story of two people fighting against 'the fear of being torn apart'.
夢現: Yumeutsutsu is the state of being half asleep and half awake, being between dream and reality
泡沫: Utakata means things like ephemeral, transient or fleeting. It can also translate as “the bubbles floating on the surface of water or liquids.” Bubbles vanish quickly and used as a metaphor, it gives the imagery of something being as fleeting or momentary as a bubble.
If something is ephemeral it means that it doesn’t last long- that it only lasts for a short time or has a short life.
So perhaps we can tie the lyrics to the beauty of the fleetingness of life and the importance of cherishing things which only last a brief moment. Life is fleeting, moments are fleeting - it’s inevitable that eventually everything must come to an end or disappear at some point in time. So we should embrace and appreciate those moments and things whilst we have the chance. We should live fully in the present moment.
I highly encourage you to read up on 「物の哀れ」(もののあわれ ”mono no aware” ). Originating from classical Heian period literature, “mono no aware” refers to our awareness of the impermanence or ephemeral nature of all things. It is the deeply felt, powerful emotions which stir within us upon this bittersweet realization. A melancholic appreciation of the beauty in the transience of the existence of things and the gentle sadness it invokes as we connect it to the reality of life.
The transient moments in life, youth, romance, nature and the changing of the seasons are all examples of mono no aware. Common imagery is birds, the moon, flowers - especially the cherry blossoms in spring.
Motoori Norinaga, a scholar during the Japanese Edo Period (1730-1801), believed that ‘to know mono no aware is to discern the power and essence, not just of the moon and the cherry blossoms, but of every single thing existing in this world, and to be stirred by each of them’.
So for me personally, the usage of 「夢、泡沫」 in the lyrics brings about this beautiful dreamlike imagery of the impermanence of dreams and those dreams vanishing. Dreams only last for a fleeting moment, for when you wake up you stop dreaming. It’s inevitable that the sun will rise each morning and in turn those dreams are torn apart by the daylight.

CREAM SODA: as mentioned in various interviews, this is a song which is all about nostalgia, old school Harajuku culture and embracing the things that are special to us. Takashi wrote the music filling the song with the kind of music which saved his life back in the days. In addition, not only was CREAM SODA a Harajuku fashion brand representative of 80s rock culture, but Ryota also talks about how even as an adult, the drink cream soda is seen as something special or like a dream drink. He mentions how if you go to a café, you sometimes find yourself hesitating and wondering if it's actually okay to order it or not. This got him thinking about how it's nice that certain things can remain special to us no matter how much time goes by. So when he asked himself what was special to him, Harajuku came to mind. Although the culture has changed and it's become a place he can pretty much go to whenever he wants without a second thought, he really loved the atmosphere of those days.
Ryota coined the term “spark future” ⚡️
青くハジけたteenage days: The color blue and the kanji 青 (blue) is often associated with youth, adolescence and immaturity. Fresh, bright, young and full of energy and inexperience.
肩で風を切って: it means to walk with an air of self confidence or to walk around with swagger. If you walk 'cutting the wind with your shoulders' then you are moving forward confidently without any hesitation or without anything holding you back. From what I was told it doesn't carry any negative connotations.
幼き初期衝動: I guess perhaps these youthful initial impulses are those intense feelings you get when you are young and inexperienced - the feelings you get when you experience things for the first time. Things like your first love or first concert.

A cheerful song about enjoying life, just being yourself regardless of what other people may think of you and never giving up. In an interview, Ryota said that during the pre-production stage, the song brought to mind a colorful and warm image like drawing freely with crayons, so he decided to incorporate that feeling into the lyrics too.
Chupa chups: world-renowned Spanish lollipop brand; the first sweet on a stick that truly captured the imagination of children.
go my way: this phrase is often used in Japan to mean “just be yourself and do it your own way”.
爆走(bakusou): racing noisily, roaring, running or moving forward at a fast speed without hesitation.
七転び八起き(nanakorobiyaoki):
This is a Japanese proverb which translates as “Fall down seven times, get up eight”. Life will always try and knock you down, but it doesn’t matter how many times you may stumble or fall, the important thing is how many times you get yourself back up again. It means to never give up. Like the English saying “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.”

The MADNA’s first summer song & youth anthem. According to various interviews, they wanted to make a song that would fire the crowd up and get fans excited at shows just like a summer festival.
Ryota got the inspiration to write the lyrics for this song by watching his young puppy Guu interact with other dogs much bigger than him. He was barking back at them mercilessly regardless of his tiny size. It reminded him of himself and the band and how they must face the upcoming challenges head on. At the time, they were going head to head with a lot of different bands and he felt like he had to be in a fighting stance at all times in this “battle of the bands”.
存在価値(そんざいかち): value to society, value of one’s existence. So he’s saying that if he doesn't do what he needs to get done then he will lose the value of his very existence.
成敗(せいばい): 侍の言葉 A term used by the samurai which means things like to punish, to defeat, to kill, punishment etc.
刀(かたな): a katana is a traditional Japanese single-edged sword. They were used by samurai in feudal Japan and worn with the edge facing upward.
下克上 (げこくじょう): A term used to refer to juniors dominating or overthrowing their seniors / inferiors overthrowing their superiors/ the lower class rising up against the upper class. Like a giant-killing, it’s an inversion of social order. THE MADNA themselves are starting from the very bottom.
万歳(ばんざい): “banzai” a Japanese cheer or battle cry used to express enthusiasm or celebrate victory and triumph. It originated from the old phrase (may you live for) ten thousand years. These days it’s used as a celebratory cheer eg. “Huzzah!” “Hurray!” “Yay!!” “YASSSS!”.
In this sense 大衆 (たいしゅう) refers to the public or common people (as opposed to the upper class or in this case those above who they are overthrowing). So paired together with banzai, it suggests a celebration of the people at the bottom. In this case we could most likely infer that’s the band themselves. So it’s a celebratory cheer for being who they are.. Hell yeah we got this! Let’s fucking go!! Honestly speaking I wasn't sure the best way to translate this line and I just like saying the word BANZAI so I left it in as it is. If I can come up with a better idea later I'll come back and change it but for now, banzai it is. Open to creative input!
ライダーキック Rider kick: A “Rider kick” is the signature finishing move from the popular Japanese series Kamen Rider. According to a fan page, although it comes in various forms, “it traditionally consisted of a flying side kick and was used against the monster after it had been weakened from fighting with the Rider.” Ryota does the kick on stage during the performance. Ideally the fans do the kick together with him too if space permits.
殺るか殺られるか/やるかやられるか: This phrase means it’s kill or be killed, do or die, dog-eat-dog, beat or get beaten etc. 殺る is used colloquially and means to kill or “do someone in”.
Giant-killing: A term used to describe when the underdog beats the competition. Often used in sports to describe a player or team that defeats a much stonger or well-known opponent unexpectedly. This success is sometimes referred to as a giant-killing. As the win is highly unanticipated, it can be an exhilarating turn of events in a match and can also lead to an uproar or huge upset.
テンション Tension: it’s probably worth pointing out that the word tension has the opposite meaning in Japanese than what it does in English. In English we would usually use it to describe negative emotional tension, anxiety or some kind of mental strain - so the lower the better! In Japanese it’s often used to mean being in high spirits, having a lot of energy or being really excited and in a good mood. So in Japanese having “high” tension is a good thing, whereas having “low” tension means you’re feeling quite down, drained and unenthusiastic.

絶頂(ぜっちょう)極上(ごくじょう): This is an interesting choice of word combination. Zecchou refers to the peak, height or climax of something. It can also be used in combination with other words to mean being on cloud nine or feeling on top of the world. This is mostly likely where “the peak” from the line “always the peak right now” derives from. Gokujou is used to describe something that is first-rate, the finest quality, supreme, prime, divine or the best.
