In the secret lair where the king had taken Howl before did he still sleep.

Howl began coming too, slowly he opened his eyes and saw blurry dark visages. He also heard something but it wasn't coming in clear till finally snapping his eyes open at the shadow monkeys surrounding him! He tried moving but was bound tight and in another extremely small cage. The monkeys were chattering at him holding their weapons, they looked ready to poke fun at him. "Mom! Dad! ANYBODY!!" He screamed before the monkeys gagged him.

Because then you'd have to deal with a giant 30 foot tall berserking alien that'd destroy anything in her way to rip him in half and hang him by his intestines above a fucking volcano since he can't die so let him suffer as his insides combust right in front of him and break apart so he falls into the crater.
