This Is Water passes layers of industrial grade filtration, which includes activated charcoal filtration, UV filtration, among others. Charcoal is the purification system of choice in Japan since the ancient times, a process we’ve taken and integrated into our tech systems.
Consider incorporating activated charcoal into your own home as it helps filter a multitude of chemicals from water to odors to air. Our system alkalizes while creating ‘microclusters’ that are easily absorbed by our bodies, allowing us to hydrate better, faster and more efficiently.
Preparing for bottling THIS IS WATER THIS IS WATER practices a process to prepare our bottlers to reflect their most positive self while engaging with our alkaline water. It is common and natural to see people bring their palms together and say “itadakimasu” before partaking of food. The intention of this act symbolizes deep respect, sincerity and gratitude. Based on scientific research, this process creates positive vibrations while helping to prepare the mind and body to healthfully consume the food or drink. It is our pleasure to incorporate these Japanese cultural practices within our carefully selected layering of methods to recreate our version of nature’s purest fluid, water. In order for our team to have a mind that is calm, concentrated with positive motivation we follow a simple standard practice of intentional preparation. It is of the utmost importance that each bottle carries a powerful message holding to the high standards of the art of traditional Japanese calligraphy, pure love and gratitude. Please consider trying to say, out loud, “arigato” or “itadakimasu” prior to eating or drinking. Wonder where our plastic bottles end up? We want to bring you behind the scenes of what we do with bottles we collect. Partnering a waste management company, we ensure our bottles are recycled. The bottles are sorted, washed, shredded and sent to China to be reproduced. We stand by recycling and we are looking into ways of producing our own biodegradable bottles in the near future. Let us know if you'd like to drop off any sort of plastics with us. Together, we can sustain our environment and treasure what's left of mother nature.

With minimal graphics, square shape and special touches like our seal of gratitude, This Is Water aims to maximize our efforts and minimize the carbon footprint our product creates. This Is Water is carefully filled in 100% BPA free bottles. Initially, we spent a fair amount of time deciding between glass and plastic bottles and eventually decided to go with something we can have full control of when it comes to recycling. This is why, we collect not only our bottles back but all sorts of plastics and recycle them through our Precious Plastics project. Founded by Jayce Izumi over a year ago, the believe of mindfully keeping unnecessary carbon footprints to a minimal and giving beautiful memories back to those being trafficked is something we all can collaboratively achieve.
