Good morning friends! Today is a special day. My beloved mother turns 70 today. I have to admit that the primary feeling I gave about this event is complete as total bewilderment. It almost feels like I'm turning 70, or like at the end of a party or wedding when you can just feel things winding down and you start to rush to cram all the fun in. Life is so finite and it takes the first half to even realize this. As I approach "over the hill" myself it is with something like complete terror. Any areas of my life where I have not been completely true to my soul's mission are now a constant nagging at me. And my fear that somehow there are still too many things left on my mom's bucket list is very motivating to shape up and live by my values first and dreams close second. I love this photo as a symbol of my mom. She loves architecture and painted ladies and spent a lot of time when we were kids teaching us to identify all the styles. My mom is gifted with broken things-- mainly people and small children who need an ally in their education, but for a time she thought she'd like to restore old houses. She's a special person and dear to me.
