Decided to go back to the Week 0 prompt, Intro, and write a little drabble about Julie. I probably wont be including this in Lost Girls, because it is really info dump heavy.
Hi, how are you? I'm Julie, so nice to meet you. You can call me Julie, Jules, or even Juju (that's what the girls call me).
If you were to ask me about my interests, I'm not sure how I would answer, or if I could. Sounds weird, I know, but once I explain, I think you'll understand. Can I? Awesome.
I've been heavily involved in sports and extracurricular activities since I was a wee kiddo. Dance, cheerleading, softball, basketball--you name it, and I have probably done it. I come from a very athletics-centered family. Mom was captain of the cheerleading squad; Dad was the star quarterback of his high school's football team.
My life sounds like a 90s teen movie. Ugh. I promise there's a point to this. So like i was saying, my parents were involved in school clubs , sports, the whole nine. They were even high school sweethearts! Dad asked Mom out on a date when she was a senior and she was a junior.
Then, after my brother was born, a drunk jerk in a F150 took my mom's high school sweetheart away. I was four. I dont really remember my dad, and my brother, Jason, doesnt remember him at all. He was only three months old.
I want my mom to be happy, so i do as many sports and extracurriculars as I can. My stepdad, Steven, is really awesome. He stepped up when he didn't have to and helped raise my brother and me. It's all thanks to him that me and my little brother were able to go to this really neat high school.
I know that my mom feels guilty and like, she is always telling me that I don't have to do sports or clubs. But I can see that it makes her happy, and Mom deserves happiness.
It doesn't really matter if I like these things or not. It doesn't matter if I'm happy or not. And I'm okay with that. I'm really okay with that.
Aaaaand I just realized that I completely got away from the entire point of this. You really don't care about my autobiography, so I'll sum it up for you.
I guess I don't really know who I am and what I want to do, yet. I've lived my life for everybody but myself.
Maybe it's time to live it for me.
