‘And what does this mystery potion do besides making you somehow even more of an idiot?’ Draco responded and Harry glared at him. ‘I don’t know.’ ‘You took a potion and you don’t know what it does!’ Draco exclaimed. ‘Well, let’s cancel you-know-who, I think you’re perfectly capable of offing yourself!’

Harry is asked to test a mysterious potion by the Weasley twins for their new line of Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes products.

Little does he know the potion forces its consumer into romcom-esque scenarios with the first person they encounter.

Too bad that just so happened to be Draco Malfoy.

Summary: Sirius and Remus are being oblivious idiots, and James has had enough of watching them dance around their feelings.

Luckily for them, he has a plan. Or, more accurately: he has several plans. At least one of them is bound to work, right?

Comments: Exasperated, desperate matchmaker James is one of my favorites. Tropes like this have to be done just right if they don’t want to slide into cringe territory, and this author impressed me by expertly walking that line. Silly, fluffy shenanigans at their best.

Wolfstar Week: Potions

Summary: He felt something for Sirius, something very strong, but Remus didn’t think it was love. It wasn’t soft and gentle, more like sharp and piercing. It was usually anxiety, since Sirius was reckless and fearless and inordinately prone to jumping off high ledges.

Comments: A little bit of amortentia and a lot of ridiculousness; everything you could want from a crack/humor fic. Read the author’s other wolfstar fic - Flour Babies, or: Remus Lupin, Risk Assessment Co-ordinator and Occasional Voice of Reason - if you haven’t yet; it was one of my favorites from last year.

Wolfstar Week: Potions

Summary: You know the trope, I know the trope, you love it, I love it, we've all read it, but I believe every author's take is slightly different and exciting in its own way.

Sirius and Remus smell something they associate with the other in their Amortentia in class, but neither knows what to do about it until Sirius shows a surprising amount of insight and takes matters into his own hands.

Comments: Oh so lovely and cute! I like the way they each try to be subtle but end up admitting things anyway, and the bit of butterflies-in-the-stomach tension near the end.

Summary: Sirius Black was dosed with several truth potions over the course of his life. Each of them changed him, and one changed everything.

Comments: A thankfully canon divergent fic spanning years. Sirius does lots of pining, many truth potions are administered, and there’s more than enough fluff to balance out the angst of the first war. Love the characterization of Sirius, in particular, as a hopeless romantic. Very sweet, with happy endings aplenty.

Courage Equals Truth

Sirius has a bottle of Firewhiskey, and they decide to drink and play truth or dare. Only too late do they realize it's mixed with Veritaserum.

Quote:

"Hey, Sirius," James said, as if his voice should be slurred but he was too awake for it to be. "Sirius, truth or dare?"

"Truth," Sirius said.

"What happened to being all brave because you're Gryffindor?" James teased. Sirius rarely chose truth.

"Courage equals truth, don't you think?"

He said it, and the words were so confident, but he still looked confused.

"Alright, hot shot. Then be brave. Did you really make out with that seventh year Hufflepuff in the Quidditch broom closet?" James asked, eyebrows raising.

"Of course not." The words burst out, and Sirius now looked really confused. "I didn't want to say that! I have no idea why I said that because obviously I didn't. Wait..."

“Hey Potter.” Malfoy called out dryly from the other end of the common room.

Harry grumbled at him and didn’t look up from his attempt at drawing hair on his balls. “What is it, Malfoy?”

“Could you please stop drawing pubic hair on those balls.” Harry’s head snapped up faster than lightning, because surely he couldn’t be Malfoy’s… But apparently he could be, because right there on Draco’s pale skin, was the very same dick he’d been drawing on his own arm. “I mean, it wasn’t very pretty to begin with, but now you’re even ruining the little bit of aesthetic it did have.”

Harry couldn’t speak, couldn’t think, couldn’t function, because fucking hell Draco Malfoy was his soul mate. Draco Malfoy! Draco sodding fucking bloody Malfoy! How the hell had that happened?
