AKA the story where Neil and Andrew meet on a self-help discord for people who found their soulmate but lost them. How many holidays will it take for the two of them to realise that maybe they’re better off together? And maybe their soulmarks aren’t quite as unrequited as they seem?
All I Wanted by maydaykevin [Rated T, 9287 words, complete, 2022]
Matt befriends a new student who takes a particular interest in Neil. Andrew doesn’t care. He doesn’t care about anything.
And Neil thought he was the only liar.
I Never Said I Loved You by phan_taloon [Rated T, 5281 words, complete, 2022, locked]
Andrew never learned how to love, never quite learned what loving someone or something means or requires, never knew how loving felt like. After so many fucking years with Neil fucking Josten and their not-nothing, he has no idea if he loves him.
This didn't go in the direction I initially planned and might be the softest thing I've written.

Life Flashing Truth by kimberly_show [Rated G, 1970 words, complete, 2022]
Andrew knew about car crashes. He caused one when he was sixteen and lived with minor injuries.
He knew the sound of metal tearing, denting, and ripping apart as it hit metal.
He knew the snap of a seat belt holding him in place, keeping him safe as someone else flew through the front windshield.
He knew the whiplash, his head smacking back against the headrest, the headache.

Or Neil gets into a car accident and Andrew has feelings about it.
I Hear Your Heart As It Beats Beneath The Sound Of Crashing Cars by PumpkinspiceLou (CatyDreamDwyer) [Not Rated, 4798 words, complete, 2022]
Based on the prompt: "Neil and Andrew having a car accident but Neil swerves the car to protect Andrew"
There Now, Steady Love by jingerhead [Rated G, 7040 words, complete, 2021]
All it had taken was a broken strap, a helmet flying loose, and a rough push. That was all it took for Neil to feel like his entire life was taken away from him. He could barely remember that one of the things Andrew told him after he’d woken up, caught in a panic because he couldn’t see, was that his uncle had pulled through somehow and he didn’t have to worry. That things were taken care of, and they’d figure it out, together. But Neil’s world still came crashing down piece by piece.
He could never play again.
Due to a sudden head injury, Neil ends up blind and can't play the sport he's built his life around. Andrew teaches him how to again.
Don't Say I Mean Nothing to You by minyardslawyer [Rated T, 3473 words, complete, Aftg Exchange 2021]
I don't think I believe that anymore
Neil Josten and Andrew Minyard's hatred for each other is destructive and violent. It's only a matter of time before one of them kills the other.
That is until Andrew waits up for Neil, finding him hurt at 4 in the morning.
And he begrudgingly doesn't let him die.
You Know I Never Forgot by RainbowObsidian [Rated M, 11734 words, complete, 2021, locked]
Topher was Andrew’s longest and least complicated relationship. The dusty brown fur-ball had followed Andrew home from the grocery store one cold fall day when he was a pup. Small and scruffy, ordinary, forgettable.
Topher was the reason Andrew’s writing career had taken off.
Topher was the reason Andrew could deal with the mindfuckery that was discovering he had a twin.
And Topher would be—if Andrew wasn’t Andrew—the reason he never forgot the first unmemorable, dusty creature he’d come across almost twenty years ago.
Or, a lifetime ago Andrew met a dusty and thoroughly (un)forgettable barista. A lifetime later he meets him again.
Except When It's No by TheRainbowElectric [Not Rated, 19263 words, complete, 2021]
It doesn't make sense. Neil was fine. More than fine. He’s safe at home with Andrew, and this should be the best possible ending to one of Neil’s best days, but when Neil squeezes his eyes shut, all he can see is —
Riko grinning with vicious pleasure as he slices Neil open. Riko’s eyes reflecting the glow of the lighter licking Neil’s skin. Riko laughing as a tattoo gun needle digs into Neil’s cheek.
Riko, Riko, Riko, smothering and impossible to escape. Panic knifes through Neil as he yanks uselessly against the handcuffs. No, no, no —
And then he’s saying it aloud, “No, no, no,” because there isn't a gag cutting into the sides of his mouth. Because Neil isn’t at Evermore. He’s at home with Andrew, who’s right there when Neil opens his eyes — only near the foot of the bed now, not touching Neil at all.
Neil has long gotten used to reading the faint shades of emotion that pass for expressions on Andrew’s face. But never, not even in Andrew's medicated, manically expressive days, has Neil seen Andrew wear anything like his current look of horrified shock.
Neil agrees to try the handcuffs in bed. It goes badly. Cue angst and h/c.

Shitty City Sunrise by Alyxj0 [Rated G, 2287 words, complete, 2021]
Maybe it was some sort of cosmic joke that his neighbor opened the door as he arrived on the third floor, the two of them coming face to face.
Hazel met blue as eyes caught on each other, Andrew’s widening before raking them up and down Neil’s body.
“You’re bleeding, Josten.”
In which Neil does some dumb things, Andrew takes care of him for the first time, and maybe Neil starts to get comfortable in his new life- no thanks to the weather and WITSEC.
