There Is Now A Game Of Thrones Themed Bar In Edinburgh And It Is Every Fan’s Dream
Game of Thrones is one of the few television shows that has caused so much hysteria around the world. There have been very television shows, or movies, for that matter, that has inspired wine, clothes, bars, restaurants, recipes, dishes and the list goes on and on. And to add to that long list of pop-culture infused things is now a bar set up in Edinburgh, aptly called Blood and Wine.

One thing that seems to make americans very happy are themed bars. There are for example many buccaneer bars - Although the motto often just appears in the name of the place and few items like an anchor on the frontage.
This is definetly not the case for the "Tavern Law" in Seattle. This bar follows it's theme pretty strictly: prohibition times! Once entered the lower level you have to call from an dial-operated telephone the "library" upstairs, if they have seats for your travel party. Than you're allowed to open a heavy vault door that leads to a winded staircase. Curtained lights allow discreet views on a bunch of french nude photographies from the 1930s.
The hidden bar in the first story is simply classy: silky wall covering, indirect light, big mirrors, crystal carafes and intimate seating areas pour the charm of an exclusive european salon in the late 19th century. While the music and the waiters outfit (including a well-kept mustache off course) give an impression of the 1930s.
And the best thing is, that this elaborate design isn't an empty shell: They make very good cocktails over there, including a sommelierish kind of consultation before you order. You get asked what kind of spirit you prefer, what tastes you like and which shouldn't be in your drink.
I came up with a summer version of gimlet (Cheers Thomas!), where gin and lime juice were accompanied by a leaf of basil and the taste of cucumber. Will try to imitate that back home.
Back to school
I went to a super cool place in Australia called The Classroom it was an amazing school themed bar/restaurant…
The food was soooo tasty and you had to go and collect it like at school dinners on a tray hah it was real fun. The yummiest thing i ate was squid with watermelon… sounds strange but oh my it was so delicious…
One of my favorite things is in the toilets they play language tapes so you can pick up a bit of japanese lingo while you wee, haha! Every minor detail had been considered and it was all so well thought out... I give it an A*
